The name of the song is a reference to the Diary of Anne Frank of course, but it is also a reference to another INK song, "The People Under the Stairs", which is from their second album, "Safe is Just a Shadow". That song was based on WWII and the music video based on the films "The People Under the Stairs" and "Inglorious Basterds".

The fact that they used anne franks quotes so amazingly well fit into this and that the album is a freaking book, man these guys are the modern poets we needed for years, they are actually becoming my favourite band of all times at this moment, really unbelievably creative and talented guys

Not gonna lie this song brought a tear to the eye. It's so sad that such a beautiful young girl suffered such a tragic fate for the simple fact of being a Jew. This song definitely shows Anne franks desperation in her two years of hiding and I can't help imagining when the chorus comes in for the last time Anne sitting on the back of a truck being driven away to her fate. Truly bullsy amazing song. Good job

Okay, so I looked up the lyrics to this song since it was my first time listening to it, and i think that they interpreted this song so well to fit not only the story of Anne Frank, but the anxieties we now face whether it be discriminatory or social isolation related. I personally enjoyed the lyrics "We’re alive yet deprived and alone but never on our own" they definitely helped me get the whole message of the song through, and I appreciate this song on a whole new level now.
