As a deaf person, I understand the distaste for the idea that deafness needs to be "cured", or "fixed". I wear hearing aids myself, but I don't adhere to the idea of it needed to be "fixed", it's just who I am and I wouldn't choose to be hearing if I could. That being said, far too many deaf think that hearing aids or cochlears are an insult to deafness, or that hearing devices and deafness are separate entities that cannot coexist. That's untrue. You can use devices that help you hear without "betraying" your deaf identity. It's like using a prosthetic. The purpose is accessibility. I can be fully involved in the deaf community and still use my hearing aids to be able to navigate a hearing world more easily. Our community is small enough without this divide about hearing devices, deaf need to support deaf in their own bodily autonomy, and that includes decisions to get hearing devices.

I am deaf. I would support this better than drills in our heads. That big no.. I would try this out . I never use hear aids just because didn't like wind sounds or Sound drive me nuts. And always get so sores inside my ears at night when wear it all day. Really bothered me. So I stopped wear it since I was 14. Now I am 44

Giving resources and aiding access for people that want a hearing aid seems fine, but the pageantry is really gross. And the cases of cash and a jet ski just feels like a game show. Also, wish he'd favored donation to sign language education over heading aids. There's a lot of people who are obsessed with the man, and might try out sign language classes as a result.

I saw Mr. Beast's video the other day about how he helped 1, 000 deaf people. I wonder if they had nearly total hearing loss and could hear again? He probably helped those with a severe hearing loss instead of profound and total hearing loss.

Hearing aid or cochlea implants doesn't 100 percent guarantee cure the deafness or hearing losses even not all can hear words to know what been say and it more like 50/50 chance work most common deaf people feel the sound by loud echo or music also possible hear loud sound so far from my point of view and opinions

I did not think about MrBeast's idea because he is weak in following the audiology required than MrBeast. Why? I am fully deaf forever by audiology recorded and E.N.T. (Ear, Nose, Thoat) medicine told me that not working for hearing aids or cochlear impairment because I have no cochlea in my head means not alive with hear sounds that FULL DEAF FOREVER. Hint: remind use go to your doctor for audiology only. Do not ask MrBreast because he is not an audiologist. You need an important audiologist appointment when you are deaf or hard of hearing or whatever. I did not need an audiologist appointment because I went there in Fall 2008 (Level Zero that full deaf forever or go to the doctor).

You didn’t even address the cost and access needed for maintenance and that anyone in the US now has to pay taxes on anything he gave them. Taxes on gifts are about 50%. If you can’t afford a hearing aide, you can’t afford the taxes on the “gift” or money or the hearing aide.
It’s not kind to send people into bankruptcy or give them technology they can’t maintain.

MrBeast, how about "1, 000 deaf people got free hearing aids!"? I'd assume the deaf community would celebrate and praise you for that. Some might even be jealous of those who received "free" hearing aids as we all know that they're not cheap to begin with. The original caption is misleading. Not every deaf person has heard before. We're a huge spectrum so we all need to be mindful of how we frame to the public the good things we do and have in life.

If a person has profound deaf therefore he or she should not have cochlear implants to cure the deafness. For me, personally, I do not need cochlear implant because I can hear the sounds with my hearing aid that will be good enough for me. Don’t tell me that I have to have it. Just leave me alone with respect and dignity. Thank you!

It would be nice to get better hearing aids and earmolds that uses soft materials for babies so it don’t injure their ears and medical do not pay for it and I’m up to my neck getting frustrated since I cannot afford it and I want those earmolds so bad and a better quality of hearing aids.. I cannot live without my hearing aids but I would not get cochlear implants.. I like to be able to take my hearing aids off when I go to bed.. and I like they way the hearing aids have blue tooth to be able to listen to music and other things I find it very helpful.. I was born profoundly deaf.. I love music I must be able to hear music.. I wish I could get the help to get what I need to have better quality hearing.. sound is everything to me it’s like seeing colors

It will not help at all I have see my people in my area. Nothing works on that device. I test them to hear me what I said. They did not respond me at all. That device cause them discomfort and confusion after input device in their head. It hurt them. I strongly deaf people “DONT” all doctors don’t understand our deaf life! As for me I refuse using I felt like surgery me like rat. Doctors don’t understand still nothing works. Money yes always money make them pay for nothing device still not Recommend DONT

Mr. Beast’s video worked like a clickbait. I studied those people in this video. Most of them just lost their hearing, so they missed having their hearing. I’m sure Mr. Beast’s people interviewed tons of people with a hearing loss until they had the right candidates for this video. They won’t have a specific group of people that do not believe in Deafness cure in this video. So, this is basically a clickbait video to go viral. This video got your full attention, right? I’m not surprised because it’s part of Mr. Beast’s strategy.

I think hearing aid is better then ci but that was his blessing to help other to getting hearing aid not everyone can afford it
