Frutiger Aero is one of those aesthetics I didn't realize were gone until I started seeing nostalgic videos for it. Its such a sleek and satisfying aesthetic and I'm honestly kinda bummed we didn't really get this glossy futuristic feel we were almost promised. I always kinda wanted a "Mirror's Edge" minimalist look with nature and trip hop (Minus the corruption) but it feels like we just kinda fell to a more pessimistic look.

This shit is so weird to me. I remember posters in my middle school back in 2008-2009 showing images like the ones shown in this video. I remember music like this in electronic stores. I remember thinking that technology was bound to bring us to a slick, cyber-corporate future and that my generation would be the first to live in that world. Now it's already an aesthetic of the past. I wish we could embrace our collective dreams instead of bending to the vision of the wealthy few.

Frutiger Aero was the last great era of brand design, we're now in the era of over simplification, hopefully things will change soon, and the brands and logos and designs we see and mentally digest every day will become interesting again

This aesthetic unfortunately faded out... and we didn't even realize how good it was. Everything was so much more atmospheric, everything that used this aesthetic seemed to have its own soul. Now, living in a world almost entirely dominated by simplification, it hurts to think it was once detailed, vibrant, alive, happy, optimistic... Frutiger Aero brought to us all the most pure form of beauty that there is being represented in our devices: nature itself. It reminded us that there's no hope or future if our minds are not centered around nature. At least, that's how I see it.
