Jaguar has revealed the new XF Sportbrake - that's an estate, to you and me. It certainly doesn't lack in the style points, and a 565-litre boot means that it's got the space to compete with rivals like the BMW 5 Series Touring too. Watch on to see the top 10 reasons why this should be on the shortlist of any estate car buyer. Particularly tennis fans.

That looks very good. Possibly one of the best estates I've seen so far. shame it's not coming to all countries.

I've been looking into sporty SUVs since wagons aren't much of a thing in the US, and was so thrilled when I saw this on Jaguar's USA site. Then I went to go configure one... base price is higher than the way I'd equip an F-Pace. Same engine, pretty much same weight (although somehow F-Pace 0-60 is 5.1 and the Sportbrake is 5.3) and the F-Pace gives you ground clearance for snow and camping. The only thing I'd be missing is the sunroof gesture, the rest of the tech is the same. When I spec'd out the Sportbrake the same as the F-Pace it was like $20, 000 more!! No thank you idk who they expect to buy this at that price, especially in the states where the SUV is king.

"But don't quite expect the quality of the germans": well, this "german cars are perfect" thing needs to get back to reality. I have recently used an Audi A4 Allroad and the interior quality was nothing more than what you should be expecting at such a price point, absolutely nothing exceptional. I could also add that the "aluminium" inlays were pure plastic, there were hard, scratchy plastics for the lower part of the dashboard and the plastic bezel on bottom of the infotainment screen looked particularly cheap. If Alfa Romeo or Jaguar happen to use cheaper plastics for the rear wheel arches, they get called out as "totally not like the germans", then Audi put them straight in your face and you only see perfection. I will NEVER understand it. If that is perfection, I'm glad I drive such a defective Range Rover (Evoque) which, compared to that Audi, feels like a Rolls Royce.

My apologies for the dbags who prefer another manufacturer, but the Jag is the best choice for a sports wagon. Period.

jag and Volvo look the best my opinion

I'm a Volvo fan, so it's the V90 for me. That said, the XF sport brake is a lovely looking car, and it would definitely be in my top ten estate cars. And if it was the XFR-S, then it would be in my top five.

I'd say this might be the best estate, after the RS6 of course. Allot of a gadgets, and the ionisation feature is a great step forward

How come British XF Sportbrakes won't have the option of the supercharged V6?

I wish the would release the sportbrake of the XE too.

Am I the only one who thinks the rear of the V90 is like Marmite, you either hate it or love it, its not the benchmark for estate car design.

Thats a beautiful estate! Jaguar sure does know how to design cars. But I feel the E class looks better.

I had a brand new Mercedes CLS courtesy car and yes the interior "looked" nice and expensive but it's superficial. When you actually start touching it materials are very thin and flimsy and there was a lot of rattles. Even the rear parking sensor array fell out of the headlining because of the cheap fixings. There must be some seriously fat brown envelopes being passed to the British motoring press.

Matt do you think it's possible you could review the new Lincoln navigator when it comes out? I want to see a europans perception of the brand

I'd say the V90 has the best front fascia and headlights and just generally looks best in the front. The E-Class estate has best stance and roofline and overall dimensions. The BMW looks slightly odd as a wagon for some reason. I can only see the 5 series as a sedan for some reason and it looks like 'wagon part' was just tacked on. The Jaguar looks much better in person... but still falls as number three or four for me.
