I think that the simple fact is you are seeing what the other Kage spoke of in part 1 of the next generation. It's the consequence of nations no longer being openly at war—low battle IQ. I don't like how people milk the excuse of the new gen growing up in times of peace anymore. That was true at the beginning, but the new gen, especially team 7 have had their fair share of life or death situations. After this 3 year TS with all the bs surrounding the omnipotence, Sarada should not have excuses made for her as why she doesn't activate her sharingan for moments that she should use it for, or having a lack of situational awareness.

Her performance in this chapter was decent, but her writing for her performance should be so much better than it has been. I don't even care about the MS right now but the lack of the regular sharingan is a problem.

I noticed how non-Uchiha with a transplanted Sharingan(s) get their chakra severely depleted ie, Kakashi. Sarada being half Uchiha, the Sharingan doesn't tax her body as much as someone like Kakashi. Someone like Sasuke who is full blood Uchiha the Sharingan doesn't tax their body (chakra) as like someone who is half Uchiha.

Sarada needs to get her Chakra reserves higher to have a nice chakra pool. Have enough to augment her stats and enough for her Doujutsu and enough for Ninjutsu. She can possibly perfect her chakra control so she can efficiently use enough of chakra to execute Ninjutsu/ Genjutsu.

If I was a Ninja I would be continuing that training she did to increase chakra, meditation. Probably implant some Hashirama cells. Then learn and master Byakugou seal.

Sarada did good in the chapter but yeah, having her Sharingan off was disappointing. Its wierd she's the only Uchiha who fights with her Sharingan off as if her glasses give her precognition

I wonder if maybe Sarada is not suppose to use her Sharingan due to Sasuke leaving the village with Boruto. Maybe she and Sakura are being shunned and in order to not draw too much attention, she hasn’t used it (or trained more with her sharingan). Similar to how Naruto was shunned by the village before they acknowledge him. I can see Sarada trying to reason with others and them dismissing her and thus alienating her from her village. Maybe whispers about her father being the same Uchiha who left and maybe whispers that she may due the same thing. Proving that the Uchiha’s are an “evil” clan. Even though that is not true. Passionate but not evil. Just a thought.

Haven't you guys remember why Itachi let Sasuke hate him? Strong emotions like love and hate are a key for achieving full powers of MS. And at this moment in story their is confusing what is right and what is wrong. Sarada is more confused of what to feel, what is happening etc. She unlocked MS because of simple mental break down. While Sasuke was all the time feeling hatred and nothing was confusing him he tapped to those powers easier he just simply used that strong hatred to activate his powers. While Sarada is not driven by emotions, she using her head more and logic. When Uchicha's powers is hidden deep in their hearts

Honestly she probably doesn’t even know she unlocked her MS that scene where she activates it, was a trauma response similar to how Sasuke unlocked his when Itachi played the massacre in his head over and over again as a kid

While I understand the concern for sarada I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt since this is the first arc in the time skip. I understand that we al leant the next gen to perform their ultimate jutsu and show how much they’ve grown in the 3 year time skip but similar to Naruto at least with the main cast where they were at the start of shippuden was drastically different from where they ended up.

We have to look at it from this point of view: boruto went down the Sasuke route and had a major glow up compared to the others of his generation who did grow but not at the same rate, we can all agree that tenchi bridge sasuke was on a different level compared to everyone else, so great that Naruto needed to learn the wind RasenShurriken just to feel he had closed the gap some and even then we weren’t having serious conversations of if Naruto had surpassed Sasuke until the pain arc and you have sage mode Naruto being compared to 5 kage summit Sasuke.

When it comes to sarada I believe this first arc was meant to show her growth and her flaws, she learned what the hidari Shinju can do and similar to the team 7 fight vs boro she’ll make a plan to move accordingly against him and hidari will have want to make counters for her as well. This was the first match and they’ll have a rematch down the line I’m sure that’s when we make the final decision because this was an exhibition to guage where everyone is and after having real combat vs the shinju and claw grimes they now know exactly where they need to get power wise.

Could it have been executed better? Absolutely but I’m willing to give it grace since this is the first arc of the time skip and if we know kishimoto this is just a set back for the comeback down the line
