What's up, folks! I'm back with another Madonna reaction from her 1992 album Erotica, and this time we listen to another pop/R&B hybrid with lyrics I was keen to try to decipher (see my thoughts afterward). So join me as we return to Madonna. Cheers!

One of my most favorite on the album with "Deeper and deeper".

It's from the global human viewpoint. Madonna may have been quite sexual, she was also a fierce believer in unity and love. She's so much more.

How dare you assume I was going to make a joke about the title. No, I am going to tell you about how much I underestimated this lady and how much she means to America. A few years ago she invited me over to Michigan for Memorial Day. There were parades, parties and more. I saw the odd sailor from Ann Arbor getting a salute or two, but so many men, most of them veterans came up to us, and gave Madge a huge hug. "Thank you for your cervix", they all said, tears in their eyes. I was wrong about her, so I hang my head in shame. Thank you Madonna. Thank you America!

Thank you for covering one of my favorite Madonna songs I bought the single and it had the best version of this and I'll remember in the 90s and still have that and everything else I could buy back then from her discography❤🎉 thanks for being you keep doing these and thanks for releasing another amazing acid video so I can enjoy it while working etc❤. Listening to the lyrics again with you takes me back to being in my room as a teenager lol reflecting on how great and how misunderstood Madonna was with her talent and how she did stuff like this😂

Great song and great reaction. One of my favourite Madonna’s albums and she was very ahead of the time when Erotica came out. The thing that a lot of people tend to forget, or just ignore, is that Madonna has a great talent as a writer and producer. She has nearly 100 singles released and more than a half of them were hits.

Always loved this song. As others have mentioned, the live performance is definitely worth a look.

Probably my favourite on this album. Musically, i like the reggae-influenced style. Not something she does often, so it stands out. Lyrically, it asks what seems like a simple question about equality and being valued in your own right, but is clearly a deep social issue otherwise it wouldn't be so difficult. Thankfully, i think society has made progress on this front since the 90s.

Please do yourself a favour and watch her live performance of this song on her Girlie Show tour. It is explosive! A completely different delivery from Madonna and it will surprise you…

I had never heard this one. Not bad at all, I quite enjoyed it! 👍 I liked the constant "obsessive" rhythm and also those reggae vibes at you pointed out. Cool one.
It never ceases to amuse me when we do the same thing at the same time, like at 2:24, 2:50, and I could go on... 😉

Here is the sort of agreed upon reminder, on a topically somewhat relevant title, that it has now been 2 weeks since the last Roxette video.

Oh, the album version. I liked this album, but this song did not get my attention. Not until I saw her performance live at the The Girlie Show. That’s when it resonated.

Can you react to Bananarama at some point? Especially their albums True Confessions & Pop Life 😍

I have always interpreted this song as a song of support for the Lgbt+ community, which in the early 90s was still strongly hated and discriminated. This song is a social commentary on why it is so hard for people to accept everyone for what they are worth as humans beings despite the differences? Why people of another sexual orientation have to pretend, why they have to speak a certain way or why they have to go to certain places to be accepted, to be respected, to be seen as equals? This song is not a sexual song at all as the title might suggest. This is basically an anti-discrimination song like "Pray for Spanish Eyes" from her album "Like a Prayer".

Hi Matt! I’ve been following you for a while and i think your reactions are passionate and not a little bit fake. I love that! I was wondering if you can react Dimash - SOS. I think Dimash has the most amazing voice in history. I believe you’ll be shocked. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Take care!❤

I like this song, but I’ve always thought that it’s too long/repetitive by about 50%. Secret Garden is coming up!! So excited.

Hi, how much longer to Alphaville's “Fools”?

I think she's just asking the broader question of what can't we all just get along and accept people's differences. There is always something that people use to cause division - race, sexuality, religion, class etc. It's a question that's been asked before and asked since and will be again. It's an ok track, it chugs along but personally I find it all a bit trite and superficial in it's message but I'm a bit of a cynic.
