Incidentally, the UK was the largest foreign direct investor last year in 2022. What's more, the UK was the second largest buyer of USA debt( if overseas territories the Cayman Islands and Bermuda included). My final point, this makes perfect sense for the UK as the USA is a successful Western liberal democracy where economic freedom and the rule of law ensure you can conduct free fair trade.
