‘Absolutely hopeless’: Liz Truss hits out at Keir Starmer over failure to support Israel

Former UK prime minister Liz Truss has hit out at Keir Starmer for the way he has handled the war in the Middle East and his lack of support for Israel.

The UK Prime Minister called for an immediate ceasefire during an address at the United Nations last week as he warned against further escalation.

Ms Truss claimed Mr Starmer has been “absolutely hopeless” with Britain imposing a partial arms embargo on Israel.

“If we allow Israel to fall, that is completely disastrous for the future of the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia,” Ms Truss told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“Hell of a lot is at stake here and we are completely letting Israel down.”
