June was the warmest month on record globally, according to the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. A team of researchers from the United Kingdom determined that the point at which heat becomes seriously dangerous to humans is between 104 and 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Journalist and writer Jeff Goodell, author of "The Heat Will Kill You First," joined CBS News to discuss what happens to a human body in extreme heat, and where we go from here.

Heat exhaustion is rough. Dehydration is worse. And if you're experiencing disorientation and fogginess, you're probably too late to counteract it. Trust me, I know. I've had some near misses with heat exhaustion and dehydration. I was HYPER sensitive to recognizing the signs though. Dodged proverbial bullets.

104... Stares in southern. That is regular in the summer here. Ive done outdoor work at those temps. 120 sucks for real... We had a week of that a few years ago.

"Your insides could melt" - that's a good deterrent during local heat waves.

Gov Abbott, those lazy construction workers are just shirking for pay.
Water breaks in the summer?
How can 'people' be that cruel while "serving the people"?

My bones hurt and the heat has helped me so much. I’m allergic to my own sweat so living in Arizona is tough😂 however getting stung by scorpions here and there has helped my nerve pain

Was out in 110 for last 3 days. Sucks. Wore me out. Made it harder to breathe. Nearly had heat stroke 2 years ago. Am here in Phoenix. I carry 2 very cold scarfs and 2 quarts of water. Starts out frozen.

Hoping OSHA can do better in making employers comply with giving FREE electrolytes drinks and not just cold water to their employees working outdoor.
