You're only going to live once. If you can get the best, just do it. Your card should come with anti sag support. My Zotac came with one and works great.
The ram will be used sooner with newer games coming out. Developers should make it at least use 85 or 90 percent of your ram, but they develop for 8gb currently which will most likely change late this year or next.

Dear MrChevy,
This is a thank you letter from the bottom of my heart. I built my PC last October with a STRIX 4090 and 13900K and since March of 2024, the Lower Echelon TechTubers started the crap talk about 4090 buyers making a mistake, and 4090 about to be obsolete because supposedly the 5090 is going to be 70% more in performance which now seems highly unlikely after Jenses's keynote at Computex, but I since March I have been suffering with this severe anxiety and buyer's remorse of buying a Strix 4090 which, in India costs around 1950$, but after watching your video, I kinda feel liberated and relaxed after so many months of excruciating mental self mutilation, I feel I did not make a mistake and no matter what the TechTubers say, my 4090 purchase wasn't a mistake. I saved for 2 years to buy that and I really did not wanted to suffer for my purchase. Now after watching Your video. I AM FREE! so thank you for this video and thank you Youtube algorithm for recommending me your video!

Regards
Fellow Indian Gamer
Good Day!

4K is still more pixels than ultrawide. 5120x1440=7, 372, 800. 3840x2160=8, 294, 400. Almost a million pixels less and obviously much lower pixel density. That's quite a nice monitor, though! I built my first PC in February. Went with a 7800X3D paired with a Merc 310 7900XTX. With the power limit raised and overclocked (on top of the out of the box overclock) I've been thrilled. I game on a 4K LG C2 120hz and I've had no issues pushing anything I play at 4K Max settings. So far the only game I play that I've used FSR and Frame Gen is Gray Zone Warfare, but that's an Alpha build so it's a resource hog. It regularely uses 18GB+ of VRAM but I can play it at 4K Epic settings across the board at 120-140fps with the help of FSR Quality. I don't play anything with Ray Tracing so that wasn't a concern when making my decision. It's neat in tech demos but I see such a minimal difference in games that the performance penalty isn't worth it for a single graphical setting in a list of 30.

I was seriously looking at the 4090 at launch but then I switched to AMD from my Nvidia 3070 to 7900XTX and never looked back!
Really happy with my choice and never regretted it

Nvidia are really great at marketing & making ppl feel you're buying the best thing ever, but I clocked on and they do lots of tricks

I moved from a 16:9 1440p 144hz monitor to a smaller ultrawide 21:9 3440x1440 QDOLED and my 3080 10gb was struggling..got the 4090 and it’s all butter now. No regrets at all.

You should be seeing better performance from that setup. How much tuning have you done to the cpu, ram, and gpu?

Didn't you get a gpu bracket with the gpu, i've got 1 included with my 4090 aorus master.
I run a 48 oled tv and a 3800x1600 144hz monitor, so in my case .Yeah i need it.
No issues, with a corsair shift 1200w and 13900k. Running almost a year.

Bought a whole system and a full Virpil dual stick/throttle/pedals setup with Black Friday deals when the card launched. It makes VR so much better. Pushes the LG C2 OLED easily as well. Use it mostly for gaming, but now run a local image generation program, too. Crank out images in seconds. Love it. On a side note, no matter which card you prefer, do yourself a favor and buy NVDA stock. That is the best performer for sure. Making me tons of money so far - and only getting better.

I went from a 2060 on 1080p at 60-70 fps medium settings on Ins. Sandstorm to now 100-180 fps at 4K in max settings, using pip scopes in intense gunfights / explosions with tons of players and AI. Sometimes i forgot i made an insane +500% performance upgrade. Yep this card is a monster. I don't think i even need the 5090 when it's out (also i don't see that much the difference between medium high to high settings meaning even future game would run fine for the next 4-5 years i expect.
In VR it's also super great when you run high settings with supersampling. I can even have mirrored view on my monitor and still have 90+ fps

Strix 4080 super here 😉. Got it for 1k which for a strix is rare to find. I'm happy af and it's the best card I've ever used for sure.

I still don't feel like I can max out the newest games without DLSS so all this talk of "Overkill" is totally in ignorance. Its not that special. Ill trade in my 4090 when the 5090 comes out.

I have a 4090 for about 3 months. Even though i wanted a 4080 super yet couldn’t find one but i love it, not having to mess with everything to be able to play is much easier and i use mine in a 120hz 65 oled

I actually find my 4090 a must for the monitor I’m running. It’s a Samsung 57 inch super ultra wide. We are talking of 16 million pixels here so every pinch of power is needed to run this bad boy. But man this pixel density wrapping most of your peripheral view is something that you have to experience.

As a 4090 owner I would say if you just want to game, you totally do not need the 4090 to achieve top tier results. The 7900XTX destroys games for $1000. If you don't need nor care for all the raytracing so much then don't bother. As a creator though the 4090 is a go to card. Expensive but the turn around rates on projects is insanely good. Plus you can game on it.

In conclusion if you're just gaming then dont waste your money, go for a 7900XTX. 3D Rendering, photoshop, Blender, zBrush, 4090 all day long. The 7900XTX isn't great for those things.

Running a msi 4090 suprim, cant fault it, infact i might skip the 50 series as im looking to get an amd 9000 3d chip and i think a better processor will make the 4090 go even further.
