* Former President Jacob Zuma's corruption case returns to the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg today.

* Five suspects will appear in court in Kariega in the Eastern Cape today, in connection with the murder of nine people in KwaNobuhle last week. Police spokesperson Priscilla Naidu says the suspects were taken in for questioning after they were found at a hideout in Summerstrand on Friday.

* President Cyril Ramaphosa says Saudi Arabia wants to join the Brics bloc of countries, which comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. This came out during the President's visit to the kingdom at the weekend, which saw South Africa and Saudi Arabia signal their intentions to work together on 17 projects, including renewable energy and green hydrogen projects.
