How to Get into PA School – Tips to applying to physician assistant school, CASPA, the interview, essay writing, & more! My personal experience.
Top 10 Tips:
o Apply to an accelerated 5 year program if you’re sure of your end goal – easier to get into
o Check and complete your prerequisites – save your time and money
o Have good hands-on experience – volunteering and medical mission trips look great
o Exceed the minimum GPA of 3.0 – consider taking post-grad classes to boost your grades
o Apply to at least 7-10 schools for more chances
o Apply early - CASPA opens in April. Prepare your letters of recommendation early
o Stand out! Nail the personal statement and be yourself
o Ace the interview. Practice mock interviews and dress well – watch out for a future video!
o Make your presence known – email admissions, tour the school, attend open houses
o Thank everyone – students, faculty, secretary, everyone!
