Honestly, the only game that can rival Stardew Valley in quality is Sun Haven, it has so much content, you can play it for 8 weeks straight. But there is nothing that Stardew Valley Mods can not add to it's basegame. Fully modded with expansions, new npcs and thousands of new items, it becomes almost a different game. Especially with the rpg and adventure mods. That's why I go back to it, over and over again. Because - there is just nothing better.
Regarding rune factory... if we can one day make our own character, then I will play that. It is not truly your adventure when you play a character that you can not connect to.

The only other games that was able to scratch my Stardew valley itch…was Graveyard keeper & Coral Island. Both suck me in for hours plenty if stuff to do, fun and i have put in hundreds of hours on both.

My first farm simulators like Stardew Valley was a browser games. Stardew Valley feels like a genre founder, but... it's kinda...hardcore for gamers sometimes and have many limits I tired of. Sometimes it's hard to comprehend, master, and understand the game. And it's not okay when the game doesn't let you know what mechanics, quests, and other things are hidden, although it's cool when you manage to discover something unknown. I need more lifesim elements, I want to chill in the game, not to work everytime and close my eyes ot that stuff I wanna do in game. Also beautiful atmospheric pixel art is important for me too. That's why I don't have a lot of farmsim in my wishlist (it's a lie). Most of all I wanna try Kynseed, I'm also interested in Sun Haven, but this game feels so broken and unfinished. Potion Permit and Traveller's Rest is also in my wishlist because I always wanted to try another worlds, where I have no farms but my own tavern or alchemist shop, but I'm afraid of a lot of grind.
