The 105 2x11 Groupo is literally one of the most reliable, easy to service, and cheapest group sets out there. It did not need to become electronic.

I just watched a documentary about a guy trying to set the record for ride the divide. His electronic derailleur failed over and over and he had to ride in one gear most of the ride. If he had a mech grupo his bike could have been repaired in 30 mins.

Over-engineering a solution that brings no advantage to a problem that already has a simple, effective and reliable solution is pure stupidity. Everybody should know that reliability comes from simplicity. A genius is not someone comes with a complex solution to a simple problem, but someone who comes with a simple solution to a complex problem. Beside this, simplicity and not depending on external resources is the whole idea of a bike, this is what makes this vehicle great, you only need to pedal to make it work.

Why to compare di2 to really old mechanical group? Not even last one... Do the same but with current mech 105 which is 12 speed and 2 generates younger

Hahah! I’m still using downtube shifters. To me, index shifting on the brake levers is new school.

Is this… genuinely… gear shifting propaganda? Like the contrast of the dirty, messy, muddy mechanical drivetrain and worst case scenario shifting situation with the clean, simple, shiny electronic situation in ideal situations with a completely clean bike. Man, idk why but I think they’re making drivetrain propaganda 😮
