For a long time, the SR-15 has got to be one of the most appealing rifle to my eyes. If I bought one I wouldn't really be flexing on the poors, because then I'd be living off ramen noodles and rainwater for the next 8 months...

DD is nice, light, and easily recognized. I was at a gun show and every time I saw that DD stock and grips, I'd stop to look at it. DD all day every day

I own both…V7 Pro, MK18, and 14.5 KAC. I can’t say much about the Cerakote since mine KAC is black, but my DD V7 Pro Rattlecan Cerakote is pristine. As far as functionality, I’ll take the KAC Recce setup 100% of the time. The gas system is flawless running suppressed and unsuppressed. Both are great, but one is the clear winner.

I’m afraid I would go with the DD just because of parts interchangeability, while the internal parts of the KAC might last a little longer than what the internal parts of the DD will that is just the whole problem all of the parts on the KAC are completely proprietary, the barrel on the DD should be good for roughly around 40, 000 rounds so I would say your barrel life on the DD would probably slightly outlast the KAC because the barrel life on the KAC should be good for about 25, 000 ish rounds but a lot of people have said that the bolt carrier on the KAC is good for around 20, 000 rounds. You won’t get nowhere near that from the bolt carrier with the DD but you can always just slap another mil spec bolt carrier in the DD unfortunately you can’t just up and do that with the KAC because it’s completely proprietary and these are the reasons why I would go with the DD over the KAC, sorry I didn’t mean to write a book, lol, just wanted to give a good explanation why I chose the DD over the KAC

For some reason I think the ddm4v7 is the best because I seen it get run over by a car, I've seen it, get shot with the 12 gauge and still work. I also Saw it get left in mud for a day once and somehow it still worked.

I'll care enough to give KAC $3K of my hard-earned money when they care enough to properly Cerakote my gun. Until then, DD is the clear winner here.

I own a DDM4 V7 and it has been an amazing rifle for me, personally. Although I have been thinking about replacing the charging handle. Would love to hear opinions on a better one.

But how do they shoot side by side? Recoil? Accuracy?

I don't understand why someone wants too pay that much for a paint job that looks like it was done in the garage. Cheap furniture proprietary parts etc. I would take that DD and use the extra money to buy spare parts, upgrade the trigger and such. If you know your way around a rifle you don't need such an over priced hyped up brand of a rifle.

I own an m4v7, and I've shot my buddies kac and it is definitely heads and shoulders better in recoil impulse and overall shooting feel. The gas system is tuned way better.

So which one do you prefer or would recommend?

I’d flex with the KA for a bit, then swap it for 2 BCM’s.

I'm grabbing both - either will get the job done, very nice setup by the way (love the milspec color)

These are the kind of decisions that made me an AK fan lol

I bought a KAC Mod 2 14.5. I will say it is the best rifle Ive ever shot. I did put a Vltor A5 - H2 Buffer with it and it just goes. After machine gunning the trigger and it stayed on target I was blown away. Very soft shooting and a nail driver with 75gr 5.56. At this point Im not really looking to buy another rifle for now.

The gas system on the KAC makes it the winner hands down. Got to shoot it to appreciate it.
