Cheap AND Safe Places in Missouri

Missouri has some really dangerous, crime-infested, poverty-stricken cities, like Kansas City and St. Louis. However, they also have some really nice communities where the residents enjoy a low crime rate and a low cost of living. In this video, we're looking at nine of those towns and cities.

I was born in KC and went to college in STL. Move to any other city besides KC, STL and Springfield and Missouri becomes Mayberry and is a whole different world. I spent 20 years in the Air Force and have lived in Japan, Korea, Hawaii, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Oklahoma, Florida, and Montana and chose Missouri to retire. It's beautiful with lots or rivers, caves, and lakes has all 4 seasons and the transitions between the seasons is where Missouri shines. It's a beautiful place. Find yourself a small town and your quality of life will exponentially go up and become more relaxing.

You must never get above I-70. Lots of wonderful towns from Kirksville to Hannibal or in central Missouri like towns of Centralia, Columbia, Rocheport, and Boonville.

I live in Springfield MO. 3 of the places you mention - Willard, Nixa, and Battlefield - are right next to Springfield and part of the greater Springfield area. Most likely you'd be going to Springfield to do a lot of your shopping and possibly even to work, so you are not exactly escaping the high crime of Springfield.

First, let me say facts are not political they’re just facts! I grew up in North East Kansas City not a fun place to grow up fortunately, I took opportunities presented to me and I exercise, hard work dedication and effort. I raise my children in Gladstone Missouri in a beautiful, safe home however, life changes allowed an opportunity to make one I now live in southern Missouri on 12 1/2 acres With 400 year old oak trees, deer turkey foxes as I near the retirement years. I am completely blessed to live where I live. Missouri is a great state southern Missouri is a beautiful part of the state. If you’re looking to move to Missouri look almost anywhere other than St. Louis Kansas City, or unfortunately Springfield. Those three places have a relatively diverse population and lots of crime.

I did a craft show in Rosebud, Missouri a few years back and I love that little town. My sister lived in Carl Junction for a few years, that's another nice area.

Born and raised in Missouri, really don't consider st.louis and KC to be part of the state!

One of the worst blunders I've made is moving away from Republic, MO (next door to Battlefield). It grieves me, but I'm stuck in central Indiana.

I lived in Northeast Missouri. Rural Missouri is usually safe. A world apart from bad areas in Saint Louis and Kansas City.

Rental prices including apartments, please, in tiwns over10, 000 people, preferably. I drove through Missouri a couple of times in the late 80s and it looked good to me outside of St. Louis, which was scary, even then. There's lots of places I want to hike camp, raft, and backpack in Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
