I personally don’t want always on display. These displays are pretty bright and often distracting and I would hate it if half of the audience in the movie theater would forget to put it into theater mode and have these mini flashlights on their wrists throughout the movie. Displays also contain heck of a lot personal information and I don’t want others to see it while in close proximity like in a meeting or on a train.
Also bright always on display and better battery life go opposite one another, so I’d always rather want battery life. It I think the problem Apple Watch battery life is so short compared to competition is partly because Apple Watch is more connected with myriad of antennas and apps that are always on and drain battery fast. So Apple could improve it by introducing sport mode (or however you’d like to name it) where it would shut down non-essential functions if user prefers to conserve battery. I know it already has a flight mode where all of the antennas are turned off, but this is different. In Sport mode it would still listen to the outside world, but be less proactive about it and maybe only communicate with iPhone, shutting down other antennas as well as all apps that are too chatty.

I like what you said about the screen and how they let you do more with it. That’s one of my complaints with the XS max. It’s literally just a blown up iPhone X. At least give us a battery percentage in the status bar with all that wasted space...

I’m in love with the screen and it is faster which I love! I could relate to when he said he couldn’t stop looking at it! 😁 It’s amazing! The silver color I love with the white band since I’ve had the rose gold and gold before.

Seriously to increase battery life, when you go to bed and you place your watch on your bedside table, TURN OFF HEART RATE in the Apple Watch app settings and TURN ON Airplane mode. I don't know about you, but on my series 3, when I leave on the heart rate monitor on, it still registers a heart rate even though its just literally on my bedside table. Also, try and keep your notifications as slim as possible... I only have calls and texts as the main notifications. I don't have to charge my watch for about 3 and a half days when I do these adjustments.

Great review! Been using Sleep++ for sleep tracking, and it does it automatically and fairly accurately. I get an update in the morning on my phone on my sleep stats. Hopefully this will get baked into the next watchOS. Love wearing my Apple Watch while I sleep, as I'm a heavy sleeper and my alarms buzzing on my wrist wakes me up easier than my phone on my nightstand. Also, it's easier to hit stop or snooze on the watch than having to roll over and reach for the phone. Again, great review. Keep it up!
