What’s your thoughts on opposite sex friendships?

My best friend for the past 30 years is male and i trust him with my life. I'll never understand why people have issues with the opposite sexes being friends.

I let my daughter have co-ed sleepovers when she was a teen. I really got to know her friends and they were always open and honest with me and always respected my house and rules.

One time my mom refused that I had a sleepover with a boy when I was close to 5, I will never understand why she wouldn’t let me. We were 5 for gods sake we just wanted to hang out

I think I love yall and whenever I have a teen or preteen situation I look at some of your videos and take my spin on it thank you both I have a 20/15 year old boys 12/10 year old girls and I can use all the help I can get lol but nowadays people are to quick to judge. I tell my kids ima treat them like a HUMAN because that’s what I wanted from my mom who whooped me with no questions asked and ever😢 hard to be raised like that but grateful because ahw she-taught me the parent i never wanted to be

Omg. Thank you. I'm 40 and only recently discovered I'm on the Asexual spectrum and so are a higher number of my long term friends. I've lost so many relationships because their significant other assume opposite sex friends = sex but I've never understood it. It's way better to allow friendships with kind/safe people regardless of gender or sex.

Unfortunately the world has taught generation after generation that a man and a women can’t be friends and if they hang out “they’re sleeping together!!!” It’s truly sad bc it causes partners to have major insecurities which leads to a toxic relationship…I’ve taught my son that it is okay for him to have friends of any sexuality and if he has a girlfriend that doesn’t approve then he needs to end it bc it’ll only get worse from there and become more and more toxic!!! My mom was fine with opposite genders staying the night, just not sleeping in the same bed. I don’t see the issue either. Her main point was “If you guys are going to do something, it isn’t going to be with these thin walls while I’m home. Teens *will* find a time and place if they want to fool around but it’s pretty doubtful it will happen while I’m home.” And I really can’t fault that logic.

My sister did become a teen mom but she never did anything at our house 😅

There’s some people who aren’t made to have opposite sex friendships but if your their person there’s nothing wrong with it only thing that people don’t realize some people says they are friends but they r truly in love with their best friend

My daughter has a best friend since 5th grade and he used to spend the night all the time! They are almost 32 years old now and still best friends so I think I made the right decision in letting them have sleepovers! Adore ya’ll ❤❤❤

My sisters and I had so many sleep overs as kids and most of them were with the neighborhood boys. Girls upstairs boys downstairs. Of course when I got in high school boys could come over and hang out since we had a pool and a trampoline but no sleepovers after my realized my friends became more mature than me and tried to do some inappropriate 😅things lol.
