Boiler in Bathroom ?? 🧐

At first glance it’s a hard “no” as I have assumed that this appliance will utilise a 230vac supply to operate, however I have come across gas fired instantaneous water heaters that only require piezo ignition for the pilot, and all other controls are by mechanical means rather than electrical or electronic, much like an old gas oven. From this distance it’s an FI.

Does it have an electrical supply? I once lived somewhere with a similar boiler and it was passive in so far as no electricity. Pilot light lit by piezoelectric push starter and gas ignited when hot tap turned on due to change in water pressure. Adjustable bi-metallic thermostat. Entirely mechanical.

Plumber only had 3 meters of pipe in his van that day, didn’t fancy an unnecessary trip to the wholesalers.

I hope you gave up looking for the isolation for it. It hasn't got an electrical supply 🤣😂

It's clearly in zone 2 - manufacturers instructions allow for bathrooms as the electrical is Ipx5.
Only issue is point of isolation.Get around that one and you still have one hell of an eyesore

Fill the bath with more clutter, then it's unusable as a bath.. Simples 🛀😂

Check the IP rating of the boiler, personally I don’t like any class I equipment within the zones.

edit - OSG states water heaters allowed as long as IPX4..

In the MI (manufacturer instructions) does it state it is suitable for a bathroom environment? Also Bs7671 special location needs to be applied. Where would you fit the Carbon Monoxide alarm?
