Last summer, I put together an outfit that boosted my confidence and got me lots of compliments.
Brown leather loafers (from a thrift store, they were blakestitched) with the no-show socks, linen trousers ($25 on sale), a navy long-sleeved linen Henley (Amazon $30), a wristwatch, hand-me-down tortoise shell clubmaster sunglasses, and a Panama hat from a thrift store that cost me $3.
That outfit didn't cost too much, especially for the miles that I've gotten out of it!

What you said about getting used to dressing better and that you started to feel not so good dressing casual just started to resonate with me in my own life. I noticed that my manners improved as well. If I am looking good, than I really expect myself to act good, to embrace that good part within me.

basically everyone in 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' dresses in Old Money Summer Style

Pattern names are really foreign to most men. A vid on pattern style names could be a solid topic no pun intended

Old money is more than a style, it's an attitude and works view.

Thanks to this channel I’m collecting a freshly adjusted linen suit jacket from the tailors tomorrow. Wasn’t expensive & it’s going to look great!

Old money style is completely about the look and craftsmanship!
Back before mass production (hence the old part) you had to be measured for your clothing and it was made in small shops by hand.
If you are loaded, you can still do that.
For the rest of us, that’s why we have Antonio keeping us on the straight and narrow with manufacturers who care about their product and advice on how to look great regardless of our wealth.

Absolutely thrilled to see Swedish John Henric sponsor the video. They're one of my favorite brands, and I have been happy with their quality and style.

Great video. Understated elegance. Love your choices.

There's something to be said also for keeping in shape. As someone who carries a bit of extra timber from time to time, I notice how much worse my clothes look and feel on me when I've let myself go. Not talking massive weight loss but moderate exercise and a better diet will increase confidence and how clothes feel.

I've found John Henric clothes to have excellent quality and fit. Hassle free delivery to the UK too. The shirts are more of an athletic fit, so if you've a flat belly and broader shoulders they'll look great. They offer a range of shirt sizes some of which go up in 1 inch increments for the chest, whereas other brands only go up 2 inches between sizes, so you can get a more precise fit with John Henric.

I bought two chambray shirts from John Henric last month, nicest shirts in my collection. Highly recommend.

Love that you show many examples. Please do one for a guy in his 20s who goes to college and wants to get the attention of his superiors.

Great video Antonio as always. When you dress well you feel more confident. Your videos have taught me a lot about looking sharp, (I get flash backs to the ZZ Top song) lol. The classics are the best IMHO. Finding myself way more choosy about what I wear out these days, I just like looking good when I am out. Your outfit looked great 👍

You amaze me because I give the exact same advice to women I style! Your great advice works for us gals, too! I’m a real dress/skirt gal, as opposed to wearing lots of trousers, but your advice works great for me just by switching from trousers to skirts. As a woman, I highly recommend that men stick to a classic style, as advised here, those crazy street styles, like ripped clothing and loud color combos, don’t attract us.

Damn everyone and their dog is making an "old money style" video this month. Even This is Antwon bit the bullet and made one.

While seersucker probably defines the coastal old money aesthetic, it's impossible to own for a long period due to its legendary inability to be cleaned. But, having said that, I guarantee that if you arrive in a seersucker jacket to an old money event, you'll be the guy everyone is sure was born into, or married into, serious old world money. Couple the suit with a fine pair of oxfords (not brogues), a pair of linen pants, and a simple crew neck shirt, and you'll be the guy who is the stand out at the event.

Great video, and I have most of these items in my wardrobe in colors that work for me. Even though it is ubiquitous, I'm not fond of a quarter-zip sweater or any zippers on sweaters. Especially if you are classifying it as "old money." Buttons on sweaters are the only choice for old-world style, in my opinion. Zippers on sweaters are like the hoodie of elevated men's fashion and are embraced by many men with a lazy approach to their style. I believe it makes you stand out in a mundane manner.
