My kids don't really seem to notice when a kid is a different color. But they also named our grey cat chocolate so there may be some vision problems involved.

The basic lack of self-awareness of that original woman. She clearly recognises that is harmful for children to not see themselves represented in media, and to see the only representations of goodness and coolness and beauty be of people who looking nothing like them.

She understands it, but only thinks that this applies to her own white kid. It should be such a a small journey to imagine a little black kid sitting in front of the tv and feeling alienated; especially as there are many more white characters than than there are black characters. But, somehow it doesn't click for her.

It's so crazy that these parents don't see the hypocrisy in calling out a commercial featuring minorities because their child didn't feel represented when this is how every minority has felt watching commercials for decades 😳 🙄
