Taker himself confirmed this on the show "Off The Record with Michael Landsberg" years ago. He confirmed it and said that if HBK didn't do business, "it would have been a very long night for Shawn Michaels." Direct quote.

Undertaker confirmed this happened in a recent shoot interview

Considering Michaels faked an injury so as not to lose to Bret in WM 13 Taker was right to be concerned

I don't think Shawn's back was even close to as injured as he put on. But in the words of Kevin Nash... "Shawn was the only guy that could kick Vince's door down and scream fuck you."

I think Shawn's attitude at this time was more because he saw that Vince was going with a new top guy.

Watching Shawn Michaels segment before wm14 “Vince needs me/stop pissing me off and I’ll cooperate” makes me believe this story 💯.. Shawn was being a drama queen around this time and everyone getting fed up of him.. especially Taker lol

Taker confirmed it. Michael's was being a woman and the Deadman made sure he did business that night.

Found it amusing that Taker felt the need to do that after he was the one that caused the injury that retired Shawn in the first place. No remorse.

Shawn admits he was very difficult and back then and was in a really dark place. Nobody outside the kliq trusted him and he hates that he was so hated. I believe because he was so dedicated that taker was ready to go off script and cause interference or just beat up shawn after the match. Stone cold was the guy. Everybody who was in the title picture during the attitude era were pushing themselves to keep up with Austin. Taker knew who Stone cold was the guy to be champion and also had a ton of respect for Bret Hart so he kept Montreal in mind and was prepared if business was not done right at mania

I had always figured there was truth to this story but I also figured Shawn was aware that Austin might legitimately whip his ass as well. Stone Cold and HBK got along pretty well though I believe also.
In 2005 I believe I worked with the son of former Reds first baseman during the period of the Pete Rose scandal Nick Esasky. I was informed that Pete did indeed gamble on other teams games just days before Pete publicly admitted it. I think ESPN dropped a movie about it at that with Pete's blessing of course.

I don't believe it kinda. Wasn't HBK hurt? Really really hurt? I think that injury he had would be different. I mean he couldn't go anymore. Why would he not put over SCSA?
Pete Rose not in the baseball HOF is a joke and not a funny one. I am sure others gambled too but not made public. He was just a big name.
