Even without a tattoo, he's still more of a yakuza than little baby Iwami

When the guy who introduces himself as the idea of the “new age Yakuza” to Kiryu ends up being more honorable and old school than anybody else in the story of Y6

In Yakuza 0 is implied that the suits have a deep meaning in a Yakuza Philosophy, like Kiryu Starting wearing black, then white and finishing with a Grey Suit. So i like to think that the same happens in this fight, Kiryu at the end of Y6 is fighting for pure hatred towards Sugai and Iwami, even Someya and Akiyama points that, he was climbing the tower to murder Sugai and Iwami so he wears black. But for Someya, he's fighting Kiryu to protect the woman he loves and his daughter, the most Noble reason to fight someone so he's using a White Suit. At the end is just a theory but i like to think that the suits in this fight plays a deeper role than just looks.

Someya is among the ranks of characters like Ryuji and Mine where they are actually very likeable villains whom once they killed off I am pretty sure everyone legitimately mourned.

"I must fight you Kiryu, for that is my DESTINY!"
"Someya, you will never become a true Yakuza 6, not until you've heard the Song Of Life!"

How the fuck did Kiryu not get burnt to death from this fire ass theme goddamn

it just registered.

Someya:
>Uses a sword, more specifically a katana
>Final theme sounds like it could fit in older japan times
>Doesnt have a tattoo but is yakuza
>Is Honorable
>Carries a knife/Dagger
>really needed his sword when fighting (as seen by him trying to grab it during the end of the QTE)

hes literally a modern day samurai, and im all for that

He died for his child, he was always a father first.

At first I thought Someya wasn't all that powerful. But then after all three of his boss fights and the QTE of him throwing Kiryu over to the bar counter with only ONE arm like it was nothing and then breaking several rows of glasses and wine bottles at once made me realized that this guy is so much more powerful than he looks.

I like to think that the violin represents the tragedy of the situation he’s in knowing that he can’t beat Kiryu and it’s going to get Kiyo killed
But the overpowering guitar is his Yakuza spirit pushing him to fight for his pride

Just finished Yakuza 6 mere minutes ago. This is one of the most memorable fights in the series, hands down. Someya is a really good character despite appearing in just 1 game. The several fights with him and the progression you see with him and Kiryu makes the final fight so emotional. This music also adds to it tenfold, the focus on violin and how emotional this piece sounds really captures how Someya and Kiryu felt during the finale. This is honestly up there with Kuze's final fight in 0 imo.

The beauty of Yakuza 6 is that everybody who once represented teh old ways of Yakuza is either dead or gone, Kiryu is the last of this breed and yet, Someya who would have been a 3rd rate Yakuza is now all of a sudden a big deal because there is just nobody else to really give Kiryu any competition.

One of the best in the series...people can hate it for all I care... it's rather emotional and personal

When Kaz smashed the TV I felt it, he genuinely started liking Someya, even feeling betrayed by him, if only Someya was alive, maybe an oath couldve been sworn.

Kiryu said ink on the back gives something for those following you to be inspired by. But Someya was damn inspiring by his actions alone

This might be one of the best boss tracks in all of Yakuza. The driving electric guitar plays off of the sorrowful violin to make such a great piece of music to convey the gravitas of a tragic but badass boss fight

Someya is kiryu in 0, while kiryu is his kuze, he teaches him it’s not about the money and profit in the business and gives him an antagonist with which to highlight his progression

Yakuza music is so fucking good, they went this hard and it wasn’t even for the final boss
