Why May is the best month for Europe 🌎

Recently I came back from my 2-month trip with @interraileu and it was amazing!! The main reason for that is that I traveled in April, May, and June.

Those months (especially May) are absolutely perfect to discover Europe. As the video says: good weather, no tourists… Let’s take Croatia for example.

If you visit Dubrovnik, Split, or Pula in summer you’ll notice three things: it’s super expensive, super crowded, and 35+ celsius. That temperature might just be too hot for me, but the crowds and prices are a pain for everyone.

In May however the prices for hotels, food, and activities are lower AND it’s so quiet you can actually walk around normally in these old cities (in summer that’s impossible).
Add to that the very comfortable temperature of 25 Celsius and you’re bound for a very nice trip!

I always make sure I do my annual big Europe trip during these months so I can focus on making videos from home during the summer!

As I said, I travel with Interrail! I traveled with them in summer as well and the difference is insane. For a trip in summer I need to reserve my train seats minimum 2 weeks in advance.

A couple days ago (june 12th) on my way back home from Warsaw I was able to get a €4 seat reservation from Warsaw to Berlin 7 minutes(!) before departure….

Interrail is the best way to see as much of Europe as possible, but during the off season it’s also the most stress free way to travel!

May and October, although both are somewhat risky if you go to a destination where good weather for enjoying is mandatory.

In Italy tourists already come from Late April and, during May, especially for northern parts of Italy like Florence, Venice and Milan it is a really bad period to visit. Country is full of Heavy Storm Rain and it’s very hard to go anywhere. It’s also not warm enough to go to dive in a pool or in the sea. Having grown in Italy, I would definitely argue that the best period to stay in Italy as a tourist is Autumn, you have golden foliage everywhere with ancient cathedrals, churches, monuments, nice architecture. It’s the best period of the country where I was born and which I love because it becomes a constellation of painted colors and it is also a very chill time with no rain or heat.

Virtually all of Italy is PACKED in May.

Depends where in Europe, it's not like it's one entity with the same properties. For mediterranean beach destinations september-early october is best as it's less hot & touristy as the summer but the sea is warmer for swimming, for the nordics i love June-July, for any touristy place February is my choice as there are very rarely crowds anywhere then.

I like to go in the dead of winter with negative temperatures and negative spirit all the doors frozen shut and having to drudge through the cold weather with no hope of warmth 🥰

One must visit Europe before school breaks or after school breaks 😊 Unless you want to wake up early and do the sightseeing.
Thank God I did my traveling when I had plenty of energy.

I live in Sweden and it's the perfect temperature and most are still at work giving you more open hours for shops aswell as less crowded

April May October and November all the wayy
