The Debunking series is the best non-Mario thing Ryu does. I like pretty much all his content but just saying this series in particular is top tier.

Time for a mega-trip down memory lane. My friends didn't believe me when I told them I beat this as a kid so I brought it over to their house and showed them. It solidified me as an absolute legend for like... 3 days.

Wow. I was having AVGN marathon, watching the 1st season. Guess the first game he played?

The Karate kid.
The very next video that i get is yours. And YOU TALK about AVGN! This boggled my mind. And really great content!

First off, I enjoy these debunking the difficulty videos. Lot's of nostalgia here. Good Job!
Secondly, your wearing my Lion King shirt! Give it back!!

Very nice! I've never played this game, but it reminds me of Kung-Fu on the NES. This game seems ridiculously short even by NES game standards!

It seems like in many old beat-em-ups kicks or jump kicks were the way to go for giving you an easier time. That knowledge about only having two enemies spawn on-screen at a time is more powerful than any karate technique! 😅

*Fun Fact:* Ryukahr-san actually trained Kim Sun-Yung, leader of Cobra Kai. After his training, he practiced in seclusion to hone his skills in both the martial arts and classic video games. He returned when the world needed him most: to host a popular YouTube channel and pass his wisdom onto others.

I know neither of you normally do collabs but it'd be so cool to see you do one with AVGN

Super stoked for this, I beat this game fairly frequently as a child. I never stopped to farm life, but if you get good at the mini-games you can build up stores of drum punched and crane kicks that make the level bosses, last level, and end of the game super easy without having to exploit enemy spawns.

I really like this series. It's great that the games are being finished in Vods vs having to show up live to see the ends like old retro videos.

Great video Ryukahr! I'd love to see you do Blaster Master at some point, that game kicked my butt when I was a kid 🤣

Daniel Russo was called out for kicking Johnny in the face, and then there's Ryu who kicks everybody in the face

That was not a monkey. That was Sato. And you dont even have to beat the boss on that stage. Just jump up and rescue the girl.

Love seeing more of these videos! Still blows my mind how you're crushing games that have crushed many of us a kids. This series feels so vindicating

If I rented this as a kid on a Friday in hopes of enjoying it through the weekend, I would have renters-remorse
