Most everyone is familiar with the Beach Boys' 2003 greatest hits release "Sounds of Summer." However, not all overseas markets received this collection of top 40 singles and instantly recognizable hits.

Using songs that were popular predominantly in Europe and other areas, EMI assembled a collection of Beach Boys' hits onto 3 discs to span their career from 1961- 1996. We see quite a few familiar faces here, as well as some oddities such as "Student Demonstration Time," "Sumahama," The Fat Boys' "Wipe Out" and Status Quo's "Fun, Fun, Fun."

While the linear notes by Anthony DeCurtis remain identical, there are some very unique choices here that make it a worthy addition to any Beach Boys fan's collection. It is one of the best ways to analyze the group's worldwide impact and influence on various regions through their incredible music.
