Hi Levy, I run the Chess society at my University in England and i just wanted to say how amazing it was this year to see so many new players coming into the society thanks to the queens gambit and then going on to watch your videos. It's really cool that one chess player in the states can have such a big impact on a small society on a different continent! Keep it up man

The Grand Prix Attack is named after a tournament circuit in English chess in the 1980s where players could earn points at various tournaments during the course of the year leading to some decent cash prizes for the best scorers. The GPA was developed as an effective Sicilian-killer requiring minimal preparation and opening memorisation.

27:06 I bet Eric Rosen would be really happy to see such beauty: All the knights, 2 bishops and two rooks filling one diagonal in total symmetry...

I've just lost a tournament misplaying the grand Prix attack, I needed this video yesterday 😭

Apparently Magnus is a Gotham subscriber, and his opponent was a crushed noob in Levy’s opinion.

I actually enjoy these more when you slip up or your opponent plays the critical line. It's fun to see your fans put up a fight! It's also nice to hear your thought process when you get into a dubious position from the opening. Thanks Levy!

I think sometimes you should let lucy play on chess opening tutorials so we can see what is the power of openings with the same level of end game skills.

Love that these are coming back. Would be great to see new episodes on the French and QGD

I’m realizing the point of learning openings isn’t always actually learning the opening, it’s learning the ideas of the opening so you can apply them elsewhere. At least at an intermediate level. Or maybe I’m an idiot, either is possible.

It makes me very sad that this isn't the recommendation against the Sicilian in the the E4 New York style course. It just seems like it has so many similar ideas to the Vienna which I really enjoy. I would like... pay for an add on or something to get this with drills and quizzes into the chessly course. I guess we all can't always get what we want though. lol

Oh, I remember this one! Back when I used to mainly play e4, I loved employing the Grand Prix in my games against the Sicilian. A delightful opening, honestly.

Keep making these levy! I’d love to see some openings for black against d4 or a remake of some more old ones!

10:19 Levy: "It's pretty unlikely you're gonna face a6-b5"
Me: "He did mention this was the tricky line earlier, probably gonna go with this"
Levy: "Sicilian players, when they watch this video, are gonna be like "Ooh, now I'm gonna play a6-b5 against the closed Sicilian."
Me: *"CALLED THE HECC OUT"*

Hi Levy, I love ur opening videos and guess the elo series! I know from one of ur videos where u played against hustlers that you don't know much about The Benko Gambit BUT I'd be happy if you could make a short video explaining the concepts of the opening. You manage to cover the general ideas of an opening in a very short amount of time and make it so easy to understand.

I beat a 1789 in a tournament using this opening after watching your video. Was a great feeling only being 1310. Ended in a force mate btw

13:39 absolutely shocking. I love when Black lets me trade off his light square bishop. As a Grand Prix player, the most appalling games I've played in the opening involve black getting that bishop to the a8-h1 diagonal. I mean you do what you have to, but I'm pretty allergic to that bishop in these positions.

Months ago you said that you would make this video waving the finish line flag. You promised and you delivered. Thank you Levy!
