Please help me reach 1000 subscribers!! New liquid soap video at 1000 :)

Don't tell me it's castile if you're using more palm kernel and coconut oil than olive oil! Real castile soap is olive oil based, no marketing gimmicks.

This is how I make liquid castile soap. I like to make my liquid soap cold process, because I just don't like cooking soap. If you hot process it would probably speed things up.

Typically you will use sodium hydroxide for hard soap and potassium hydroxide for liquid. In order to get the castile soap to set up quickly, the trick is to do a hybrid of hydroxides (new band name). For this recipe I used 70% potassium and 30% sodium.

I waited about 24 hours for the paste to set up, then diluted it. It took another couple days to fully dilute, but if you wanted you could hit it with the stick blender to mix right away.

With 300 grams of olive oil, I ended up with about 3 liters of liquid soap, talk about value! This soap is gentle AF. Hands and bodies will love it, especially if you wash your hands often. Takes scents really well, mmm maybe lemon?

Recipe
300 grams Olive Oil
100 gram Water
44 grams Potassium Hydroxide
12 grams Sodium Hydroxide

The soap adventures are well under way. Liquid soap is oh so satisfying. Easier than bar soap! Take a look at the ingredients in your soap, is that want you want to be rubbing on your body???

I buy olive oil only liquid castile soap from mamasuds and we use it for EVERYTHING- even dishes...we just do a white vinegar or baking soda/DE mix scrub and it cuts the oil. She also has a non toxic dish powder blend for the dishwasher. But this soap is THE BEST for getting out any stains- on clothes or furniture. Like better than anything I have ever used and fast and easy. Best kept secret that shouldn't be a secret!! We are now going to try making our own! Loved this- thank you!! :)

Done this today. Will give it a few days before diluting but it's hands down the easiest recipe. Thanks from Chile!❤

When you watch virtually every other video on this subject (except for one other guy on here) they want you to be eXtRa FeArFuL oF tHe LyEEEeee. So your relaxed common sense style made this the best one.

I'm trying to calm my skin reactions down when using soap and REAL castile soap like this is my last resort so here I am, going to make my own.

Thanks for making this, there aren't many out there making actual liquid castile soap.

I make liquid Castile that ends up looking exactly like yours. We use it diluted with tap water to mop our pinewood floors. In a high-wattage blender, I mix about a cup of grated homemade pure olive oil cold-processed soap in 4 cups HOT filtered water. It’s easy because I always have olive oil bar soap curing in the pantry.

I normally wouldn't comment but I have to because I am so grateful for this video. I currently am a vanlifer and never made soap before, ever and am so intimidated so thats why I was starting with castile because it looked easy enough in a slow cooker but the fact that that isn't necessary is GOLD. I've been waiting to visit a relative so I could have access to a plug for 12 hours, lol but now I don't have to wait and can do this right away!! Questions: I only bought potassium hydroxide so do I absolutely *need* to get the other kind of lye?? Also, is there a way to increase the lather?? I love real lathery soaps.

Looks really easy. Doesn't the cold process take weeks for soap to fully saponifie, and not just 2 days?

Thank you for sharing this very quick and easy method! If you wanted to add essential oils, would you add them after it has set, when you add water at the end?

Hi. Great video! If I wanted to add essential oil….at what point do I add and how many drops? Thanks so much! 😊

How did you calculate the saponification values of sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide
