This was interesting - however, not sure mixing mobile OS and desktop OS gives a super clear comparison.
Embedded System OS inclusion would push Linux pretty high up the list as well - a lot of commercial electronics use Linux as the basis of their products (fridge, ovens, hot tubs, thermostats, etc, etc)

Everyone talks about how Win XP and 7 are legends but no one mentions Android's supreme reign which is pretty amazing

I have a suggestion to the next video or for any near future. The most popular Linux distributions used since 90s until this year. Thanks you 💕

I was surprised how long Windows 95 stayed relevant as extended support ended in December 2001

After support for Win 10 ends, I'm moving on to Linux. Fortunately, it has matured more than enough. Plenty of great options now.

Reminds me of a book about coding in Java that I own called "Java Software Solutions: Foundations of Program Design", the book is from 1998 and it's so old that there's a part in the book where it says "Examples of popular operating systems include Windows 95 and Unix"

The evolution of Windows is just gradually reducing the shading and color in their logo

XP is still the best OS; I had so many fond memories of XP, as well 98 on my first computer. Time flies too fast :(

I started on Windows 3.11 over MS-DOS, Windows 95 was a paradigm shift, Window 98 was where I had the most fun with games mainly because it was where I got my first graphics accelerator card, a Voodoo 3 PC 16MB, the 3dFX Glide API elevated the games to another dimension. I've been using Linux since 2001 in dual boot, but of all the systems, the one I missed the most was without a doubt OS/2, mainly from eComStation. The most stable system I've ever known.

It's sad to see mobile OS overtake the share. Fewer people exploit the power of desktop OS.

Win 11 at 5% brings a smile to my face. They took so many steps backward with that OS

There's something sad about Linux, while being one of the most influential and useful OS's of all time (cause of servers, Android, github to some extent) never breaking 5% marketshare.
