Are you looking to install the Google Chrome web browser on your Ubuntu or Debian system? This tutorial has got you covered! Follow these step-by-step instructions to get Chrome up and running on your Linux distribution.

1. Visit the Google Chrome website: Open your preferred web browser and go to the official Google Chrome website.

2. Download the Debian package: On the Chrome download page, select the "Download Chrome" button. Make sure to choose the correct package for your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) and Debian-based distribution.

3. Save the .deb file: Choose a location on your computer to save the .deb file. By default, it is usually saved in the Downloads folder.

4. Open the Terminal: Launch the Terminal application on your Ubuntu or Debian system. You can do this by searching for "Terminal" in the applications menu or using the Ctrl+Alt+T keyboard shortcut.

5. Navigate to the Downloads folder: Use the `cd` command to navigate to the folder where you saved the downloaded .deb file. For example, if it's in the Downloads folder, you can use the command `cd Downloads`.

7. Resolve dependencies (if any): If there are any missing dependencies during the installation process, you can use the command `sudo apt-get install -f` to automatically resolve them.

8. Launch Google Chrome: Once the installation is complete, you can launch Google Chrome either from the applications menu or by typing `google-chrome` in the Terminal.

That's it! You've successfully installed Google Chrome on your Ubuntu or Debian system. Enjoy a fast and feature-rich browsing experience with Chrome.

I'm running Knoppix (from a live USB). And very new to it.Downloaded the file and used your method. But there is an error in the end of the install. Got a Google Chrome icon under "Internet" in the menu. But nothing happens. Any ideas or help please?

I used the same way to install chrome. But in the application privacy under settings. It didn't show the option to allow chrome access camera and microphone. But Firefox do show the option. May I ask anyway to fix it? Thanks
