I just want you to know - I’m an esthetician and have used a ton of products that contain alcohol. Alcohol is in a lot of facial products (such as the urban decay setting spray). Just because it is labeled as “alcohol” does not mean it’s the same as your standard rubbing alcohol. There are “fatty” alcohols designed especially for the skin and will not dry you out! Just trying to spread information and let you guys know, alcohol in skincare is typically not bad for you. 😊

I make my own spray too except I use green tea and rosewater mixed with a bit of glycerin and vitamin e oil. It's super hydrating, my makeup lasts all day long even through sweat and rain, and it contains natural b vitamins and proteins because of the green tea.

Wet and wild spray has alcohol in it and so does makeup revolution and bh cosmetics. Also Nyx does. Urban decay all nighter does. A lot do have alcohol. I put lavender in my setting spray. Smells beautiful.

This is awesome. Setting spray is so over-priced for what it is. So glad to see a makeup youtuber going DIY on this. I've been making my own setting spray, toner and micellar water for about a year.

I make my own as well. I use an organic which hazel that has clary sage and orange bc on its own it leaves my face feeling moisturized yet slightly tacky. I’ve never had a witch hazel feel like this and immediately became obsessed with it. I use rose water (bc it’s $3 cheaper then the rose water and glycerin they sell & I have a large bottle of organic glycerin) and mix my own glycerin in. My daughter uses the spray for her eczema and I use it to defrizz my hair and on my skin. I started mixing them together and lately I’ve been experimenting with adding hyaluronic acid into it. I have hyaluronic acid powder that has three different molecular weights bc they get to different parts of the skin. It feels amazing as a primer and a setting spray. I’ve been thinking of selling mine as well. I’m also thinking of adding cosmetic vitamin C. I bought some a bit ago to make my own serum. But I’m not enough of a cosmetic chemist that I could be able to ensure it’s stable and effective. I also bought some 10, 000 iu vitamin E oil with added sea buckthorn oil that I’ve been thinking of adding to a mix of jojoba oil a base (I’m still working on the base) and possibly hyaluronic acid. I was going to buy pixi glow mist but I’m not crazy about some of the ingredients so I wanted to make my own. I try to only put organic, paraben free, sulfate free, etc., skin care on my face. I gave up on makeup bc of the price and bc the eyeshadows suck. If I could afford it I’d buy most of my makeup green beauty except for eyeshadow. I love making stuff for my skin and I’d love to be able to make a bit of $. Especially since my ex isn’t exactly reliable with the child support.

The ingediants you have chosen are great. I use frankincense oil in my homemade organic face cream. I also use it on a cotton round dabbed on redness on the face. It really helps getting rid of the redness. My son uses the frankincense oil when he changes his insulin pump sites and his Dexcom sites. He is a Type 1 Diabetic and the frankincense has helped reduce surface scars and it helps with the scar tissue. It is great.

I've been making my setting spray forever as well. It takes a lot of trial and error to see what works for your skin. I recommend experimenting with small travel size bottles at first to see what your skin likes and doesn't like. I use rose water, vegetable glycerin, witch hazel and vitamin e oil. Works really well or if I'm lazy I'll just add some glycerin to my Mario badescu toner and use that. Still cheaper then high end setting spray for sure

Witch hazel is the best for any bug bites! It really soothes them and helps with itching, redness and swelling.

The witch hazel you are holding in your hand actually contains alcohol. Alcohol is in various forms in multiple cosmetic products. Glycerin isn't an oil, but does attract. moisture from the air to maintain dewy skin.
Your formula sounds great. 💙

I'm probably just gonna buy one from you instead of all that trial and error but good luck to anyone that puts in that effort

Yesss. Ive been making my own for awhile now too. Back when i was on a budget i tried this and found its just as good as any setting spray you can buy. And for less than a high end setting spray you can make tons of it that will last you forever. I like to add the Thayers cucumber witch hazel in mine.

I love this! TBH I found it a little useless for everyday light makeup and they're SO overpriced but if I make it at home it would be so much cheaper!! Thanks so much for sharing!

I have to tell you again, but I just love your new look! Your hair color seems to bring out your eyes more too. You just look so bright and cheerful, that I can't help but to smile when I see you!😁
