Considering I sleep like a knocked out Family Guy character, a king bed is almost a necessity for me

When I was a really little kid, like 5 or so, before kindergarten, my grandmother gave me a big rock painted gold. I thought it _was_ gold for the longest time. It was about the size of a blocky grapefruit or so, weighed maybe 6-8 pounds. To my small body it may as well have been a boulder, being very hard to lift, easier to roll.

Anyway, my parents had a California King-sized waterbed (like a king, but also longer). What I would do is take this large piece of "gold" and hide it somewhere under the sheets and blankets, close to one side or a corner. Then I would crawl into the opposite side and go "mining" by crawling around randomly making turns and spins until I found it by chance. Would often take me a while. Sometimes I'd get lost under there and end up popping out somewhere by the pillows or stuck down by the foot where the sheets were tucked.

My point being: a King-sized bed is so large you can *literally* lose a small child in there.

Used to have a smaller dog that would sleep with me sometimes. I had a queen sized bed, and he almost always managed to push me to the very edge of the bed. I would have to get up and push his little body back to his side, and he would get annoyed.

Fr the first time I saw a king-sized bed, I was utterly shocked. That thing was absolutely massive. One time, I and another 3 friends laid down to watch a movie, y'all there was still a LOT of space on the thing ☠️ (and we weren't kids, we were already 4 full grown ass adults)

Having owned a king sized bed I can attest they are absurd. I only used maybe a third of mine for sleeping and lounging and the other two thirds was covered in folded blankets, pillows, and electronic devices. I could toss and turn and never touch or move the stuff coving most of the bed.

Now I've got a queen bed and if I barely move I knock the remote across the room.😆
