I attended Oktoberfest on 3 October 1990. A quick google search will tell you that is the day West and East Germany reunified. As a US Soldier it was a fun time to attend. No I don't remember how I got home. LOL

My choice is Churchill Canada. There are 3 phenomena that are spectacular, the least of which is the annual gathering of Baluga whales, huge and mysterious yo see so many whales, handing out and creating families.

The second amazing encounter you can have with polar bears. Yeah polar bears that take over the town and human’s giving way to the bears.

The 3rd breath-taken natural phenomena is The Northern rights. The staff at the research center will awaken anyone who wants the vision of swirling clouds, rainbow colors and the lights, oh the lights. Don’t miss this. Of course a lot of travel compromises —train only comes to Churchill on Wednesday. So you are there for a week. There few overnight accommodations—make a reservation at the research center, rustic but great people.
