Let’s see if we can age this pot 100 years

After not being able to find a reasonably priced aged terra cotta pot I decided to make one! I bought a faux terra cotta pot from Amazon along with some leftover white paint and Roman clay I was able to make this pot look aged.

I first covered the pot with a thin layer of white paint mixed with water using a coffee filter. Once that dried, I applied the Roman clay (colors: cafe sonata and Damascus) with a paper towel in dabbing motion. The Roman clay added the texture I wanted as it clumped in some areas. I repeated my steps for the faux terra cotta base and put our new friend Lenny in the pot!

I hope that you transplanted Lenny into a larger greenhouse plastic pot, loosening it's roots and adding fresh soil before placing Lenny into your new planter. Most plants, especially the trees, are very root bound in order to sell them at a reasonable price.

That was legit the best and only compliment he could give and he did. This is what I mean when I say words of affirmation ❤❤

AGE a PLASTIC 🪴 POT to look like POTTERY.

Rub acrylic white paint with water to get a washed base look. Then dab roman clay all over the pot..dap it using a paper towel over and over again until it builds up. You can use different samples of roman clay.
Looks amazing, like 100 yr old clay pot. 👍

Fantastic job🎉 next time try the chalk pain from magnolia (now comes in a spray can, fun) then use your coat of aging color and or texture. Saves time and gets you more texture. 🙌

I know that you said the product but if you get some time would you mind listing them. It’s a beautiful planter and I scored one of those huge planters at dollar tree! They are so hard to get but I want to do something like this with it. Well done!

Beautiful, I’m inspired. Do you have instructions to take care of Lenny?

Good thing it’s indoors.. it wouldn’t last long outside on a rainy day.

Love the plants’s name. Do you mind if I name one of my plants Lenny in its honor?

Gorgeous but I'm surprised not on a rolling platform?? It'll need a ton of sun; how will you take advantage of the best light over there besides the fireplace? Or maybe you want it to stay as it is intentionally? Will it bear fruit if small?

I absolutely LOVE your aesthetic. When I was little girl I decorated my bedroom in a similar aesthetic. I was super bougie for an 11 year old . My mom called it a " French country design " but I don't agree with that name . What would you call your aesthetic if you had to only use one word?

Where did you get that beautiful lemon tree?

The pot looks great but Lemon trees need direct sun for most of the day to thrive.
