An Arizona's Family viewer captured the encounter on camera as the coyote and her neighbor's Airedale chased each other in the street.

Lived with coyotes around us for years, here is some advice from experience: Coyotes are smart and will act playful to lead a dog away to an ambush from multiple coyotes. They are also hunters who can be exposed to diseases from the wild. Don't let your dogs "play" with coyotes, your dog would be out of its league.

Coyotes may enjoy playing with big dogs like German shepherds. However, they routinely hunt and kill small and medium sized dogs. I think dogs that size look like prey.

the coyote you got to watch out for is the one carrying the acme rocket launcher.

They know--for a fact, that some wild foxes have the so called "tame" gene. They know they can select for that gene and domesticate the fox in one generation. I imagine it is similar to the coyote, some are simply naturally domestic. If raised from a pup, they would be fine.

Yep, keep your pets on a leash, so they are staked out like prey and can't run. Leashed while walking is one thing, leashed while in their yard, no way. Coyotes lure dogs and cats away so the pack can attack in mass. The playing part is all part of it.

Don't trump on the Coyotes for just trying to survive, but Owners need to keep their pets inside or within a fenced yard. Cats especially need to stay inside. Cats and small dogs are the perfect meal for a pack of Coyotes. If you see a lone Coyote, he is just trying to lure the pray to the rest of the pack.

That question has to the dumbest ever!!! A coyote is a wild and constantly hungry predator. It will have met it’s match with what looks like an Airedale Terrier, bred to defend and fight. That said, if it meets three coyotes it will no doubt flight rather than fight. Any lesser dog will die in a conflict with this type of animal.
The coyote is not a pet....full stop. They will, if hungry attack an unsupervised child.
The urbanisation / domestication of wild animals should be avoided at all costs.
Would any thinking person adopt an alligator as pet?

I agree with ‘Cher’ If you ask the coyotes his take on a fair fight the answer will be in the woods”SIX on ONE”. That comes from his five buddies who are waiting to hurt or kill the dog. Coyotes don’t like fighting fair!

That coyote is “conditioning” that dog and “luring” it away from where it is safe. A coyote is a “predator”, a dog is a “pet”. Most dogs are loved and never presented with any danger from their humans so they don’t pick up on the dangers with a coyote until it’s too late. We don’t let our children around predators for the same reason, likewise we should use the same caution in protecting the animals we have in our life

Do not let your dogs play with Coyotes they love to "play" with dogs the dogs will follow them Into the Woods and the pack of coyotes will appear and tear your dog apart

Absolutely not! He could be sick like having rabies or other sickness plus his intention is not playing with your dog, they are predators and he is probably hunting your dog.
