With cars taking up space on the sidings and run around tracks, the Depew, Lancaster & Western Railroad needed two crews and both of their engines to work downtown Batavia, NY! After BT-1 performed interchange and local work with a high hood MLW RS18, the second crew used D-L Alco S6 #1044 to work one industry downtown while BT-1 worked another!

They had both engines out again today. Great to see business is booming on the DLWR.

Wow, that was interesting to watch how they worked together. It really showed how even a small railroad is vital to the business community. Thanks for highlighting the small guys.

The drone footage is like watching a great model railroad, and with added Alco's. I love the little roundhouse (at 3:06). There is something "Story Book" about a short line that looks after their locos and puts them to bed at night. "Good night little Alco, sleep well". Sorry that's it, I have finally gone, the guys in white coats will arrive shortly.

Awesome footage, it was pretty neat to see both units in action! Something you definitely don't see everyday in 2023!

Great video catching both of the rare Alcos out there running. The S-6 is rare but catching a as built RS-18 in my book is even more rare. Still running around in the old R&S scheme to. Be safe.

Another good video... I like the old building (about 13 minutes in), boarded up, and in a state of decay. With the short-line workings, definitely inspiration for building a model railroad! Many thanks for your efforts! (Viewing from afar - Europe)..

Whoa missed this one! Too cool it is. I love #1801's fancy square grilles.

Even tho the combined power of the RS Plus the alco is like a single gp38 it’s still fun to watch and listen to, especially from a drone view

Great video. Any idea what that old factory is/was at Harvester Ave? Looks like a 19th century brick building that was added to in the mid-20th or so. A super modeling candidate! And, of course, the old guy in me is a bit saddened by the decline of whatever industry that once was. Thanks Matty.

Is that the first time that both crews worked at the same time?
