New Zealand's prime minister Jacinda Ardern made what she called a "somewhat unusual" announcement to the nation on Friday - she's expecting her first child.
The 37-year-old became New Zealand's youngest prime minister in more than a century last October.

New Zealand's real life experiment. Can a woman have it all? Sadly this will be the news story. The answer though will derive not from the mother or New Zealand's electorate but from the baby. She'll either luck out and get a dream baby and the answer will be yes, or she could get an unsettled colicky baby and the answer will be no. And nothing about her decision can be used to help anyone else because everyone else is different and life throws different obstacles at us all.
