I’ve done, LS DOD, taped plugs. Threading.
With the block upside down.
So the cuttings fall .
Ran great for years. Tap with the block on stand, upside down.
Lay under it. To tap.

Tacking a 1/4” drive extension upside down works and gives you a square on the end to turn tap.

An engine builder in Australia by the name of Les Small, had an interesting way of restricting oil flow in the Australian Holden 304 ci V8.
He put pipe cleaners down inside the pushrods. Oil surge with too much oil in the valve train was a real issue then. This trick worked well. Cheap fix.

Getting your Dad's content in my feed is already peak race engine content but then we get A SECOND Mr. Morris and double whammy race content. You sir are much valued. My two favorite engine and race oriented channels. You're a good teacher just like your dad.

Trying to get a good feel on that small of a snap gauge in that deep is not the easiest thing to do if you don't have "The Feel". Thank you for your videos 🙏

Enjoying watch a young man follow in his dad's footsteps, i think the new castings are a good investment, sure you could fix the others but then you wouldn't have it done on time like you want it's money out of the budget but time is more important than money sometimes. I can't wait to see how blueberry runs after you get it back together . Great video Kyle

Yep. The previous owner of Trick Flow said years ago the casting facility didn't follow the aluminum formula they specd out and cheaped out without telling them.

The ford block always tricky restricting the lifters sometimes one side won’t oil and have to make an external crossover. I like using the restricted pushrods in a ford engine instead of restricting the lifers

BACK IN THE 70S THE GUYS RUNNING BIG HP 351C ENGINES USED RESTRICTOR PUSHRODS. I NEVER RAN INTO OR HEARD OF WINDSOR OILING PROBLEMS, JUST FE AND CLEVELANDS.
