I gotta say this is the best instructional video out there. Not only for this song but for any song. I think you have come such a long way from your earlier vids. You cover everything in this tutorial regarding Aint Talking About Love. Your lesson is so very well laid out. It is methodic, just the right speed and you go over every facet of this song w great detail and shared knowledge. Just want to commend you on your work. Ive seen other videos where the instructors actually talk down to their audience. Maybe its teaching by sarcasm I don't know. But not you. You teach music like you're a best friend. Can't say enough good things about your lesson and cool, friendly style. Keep rockin 🎸

Dude, I just watched your video for the first time. Out of all the other youtubers that have videos teaching this song, you are the one with the best explanation. I just started learning guitar 8 months ago and been looking at all these different videos. By far yours is one of the best. I'm going to check the rest of your videos and see what else I can learn from you.

I agree with you about EVH guitars, I wasn't a believer until I bought one. Man, if you're trying to match Eddie's tone this is a must!

That is the wonderful thing about many of Eddie's tunes - he took some very basic core ideas and crafted a catchy backing track. His composition of rhythm parts for his songs goes largely overlook in favor of his solos. This song is a prime example of doing something almost completely in first fret position - where every guitar player starts out. And it still a crowd favorite to this day. thanks for the great video.!!!

Youre one of the very few that actually show what pedals and what type of distortion is used. Thank you!

I’ve watched a few tutorials on this song and they were pretty good. But jumping up and down Martha .. yours is far and away the best. You get the effects, the whammy and you really love the song and how EVH played it. If I could give an award of the most awesome EVH instructor you’d get it. I’m a mortgage dude who recently started playing his 1985 Kramer and really appreciate these videos.. EVH is the reason I spent my college tuition on a guitar! Rock on brother!

Brett, your commitment to sharing, instructing, teaching, explaining, along with your attention to detail is deserving of shouting from rooftops! I’ve followed you, and your videos for a long time, and I Love What You Do! Thanks for sharing your Love of the Instrument, and this series! I’ve said to many people - for years - that if you told me I could only listen to ONE guitar player, for the rest of my life.. that player would be Edward Van Halen! Can you imagine the stuff “in the can” that only a few people have ever heard?!? I hope Alex and Wolf can, someday, share it with the World! Lastly - I’M GONNA BUY YOU A NEW CAP!! Sheesh!!!

Love that guitar. If you can expense these because of the channel, that is fantastic! The picking was a little tricky on this one, at least for me, but if you repeat it enough times to drive your wife and family crazy, it becomes second nature.

Nailed that intro tone Brett. Very few lessons or covers have done that on YT. That actual VH isolated track intro is the gold standard on how good a plug in or stand alone (like Amplitube/tonex) or modeling amp is. Very few products that try to mimic that intro tone, are able to pull it off. You proved you still need a real amp to achieve identical tone. Not even axe-fx and all it's clones out there are able to match it. Great video.🔥
