This video was a joy to watch, really well spoken and presented!

I love the bite size format

Nice video thanks! Whats a good option to supress transient on 3.3v line to cpu?

This is a very helpful video. Many designs I have seen just seem to randomly have a TVS with the VRWM just about the signal level thrown on the input. In the case of an op amp with max +/-13V rails and an input signal that is +/-10V, if you select a TVS with VRWM of 11V, the Vclamp will often be 19V or more and VBR might be >13V. So before this TVS starts conducting much current, the input pad protection of the op amp will forward bias and conduct current to the 13V supply. But those often do not have much current carrying capability. So am I correct in saying that a TVS diode can't be used in this situation?

I guess you could use the diode array like you mention in your video. Would it also be acceptable to have use a TVS diode with a resistor in series with the input of the op amp? If Vclamp was 19V for the TVS and the input pad protection diodes started conducting at 13.7V and could handle no more than 10mA, then you could size the series resistor to be larger than (19-13.7)/10mA = 530 ohms. Would this work?

Thank You for this video. I have a question about protecting an Arduino Nano 33 BLE. This board operates from 7V to 21V. My intention is to use it for Automotive applications < 15V. I have been considering the Littelfuse model TP6KE18CA. My concern is the max clamping voltage of 25.2V of this TVS diode is greater than the max 21V operating voltage of the Arduino. All other parameters appear to be OK with reverse standoff at 15.3V and breakdown voltage of 17.1 to 18.9. Is this a concern?

Very well illustrated
I am a total newbie here but
Mind if i get ur insight i am making a diy backup battery .. would a TVS help protect the load .. or would a simple resistor and relay be a better choice ?

what tvs diode would you recommend for a camera type c port ?
i have a bad diode in my camera i want to replace.
thank you

Hai, I am going to USE ESD protection for CAN protocol .
Can you suggest a IC for me.
