Building a race bike on a BUDGET - Part 2

In this second instalment of building a budget race bike from effectively a worn out commuter road bike I start getting really stuck in and replacing some key parts as well as tarting up some existing ones and removing things that no longer need to be there.

I really hope you enjoy this episode and forgive me for not updating costs of the build so far. I'll aim to do a full round up in the final video for you.

If you need any gopro or phone mounts for your own bike check out Ram Mounts. Use code MOTORBIKE15 to get a whopping 15% off

Tom, stop being tight and get a bloody bike ramp! Your knees will be buggered when you hit 40.

That opening sentence.. I can definitely relate! 😄 I currently have the fairing off of my ZX12R as I’m changing the oil before it’s used this year.
The top fairing is off my SRAD as I’m replacing the worn out faux carbon effect on the air intakes, plus giving it a deep clean.
I have also taken the o/s front indicator off my H2 ZXR as the rubber part that pushes into the fairing socket is split..making it quite insecure. New one ordered.
I’m currently removing the Akrapovic exhausts & refitting the standard oe silencers on the RSV ready for the MOT & sale.
The Fireblade is currently in a state of disassembly as I’m replacing the leaky old radiator, & swapping the front callipers for rebuilt/restored versions etc…
So yeah, bits of bike and tools all over my garage 😂 Your projects coming along nicely though 👍🏼

Can't believe how easy those headers came off. I really want to replace mine with stainless ones but scared to death about snapping the studs. Have you had the headers off before buddy ?

Weight wise I'm going to say 15kg if it's a stainless exhaust system you've put on there
