As a hardcore 1.8 java pvper, i will have to say that the bedrock servers are wayy better comparing the features, how they look, and how customisable they are, also with the features of multiple devices in bedrock, it is definitely better pvp wise, tho for customisability i will have to give it to java with inclusion of multiple mods and mods support in general, while bedrock besides the cheap entity based add-ons that dont feel complete, Now for performance java is terrible, i dont have the best pc, so it depends on that as well, but with my GT 710 and i3 10th gen, i get about 70 fps on low settings with around 6 render chunks, now with bedrock i get over 200 fps with the same settings, tho survival in java is just way more better because of hardcore, and the option to test out multiple world types in java while only having superflat and normal in world, So i think both of them are good in their own ways.

I play Java Edition. But I started playing in bedrock. Bedrock is slightly hard and Java is really easy, even if we play the hardcore on that.
