It reminded me of when I said I had a step brother and my mom asked if I didn't like him cuz he was actually my half brother and I was like "No he is cool I was just wrong"

This is such a common trope 😭 one parent is having an affair. Adult child finds out then tells the other parent then finds out that the parent knew and was fine with it the entire time. Now the character experiences a massive existential crisis.

And there is so much more. Why is it such a common trope for parents to have an affair and the child finds out. Then there are the show where one parent cheat, kid finds out and it blows up the family. It's so annoying

It's weird to lie about a divorce that was clearly chill. Like they're both clearly cool with each other, cheating wasn't involved, they just didn't think their kids would be cool about it?

I dunno, that's kinda lame. Like their parenting and their relationship with their kids is more questionable than anything else.

Doesn't Ted talk about his stepdad (Clint?) ruining Christmas when he was younger? Or maybe the stepdad comes later. Been a while since i watched.
