I absolutely love the heaviness of modern metal but I miss those days where songs have technical and fun to play riffs. I used to practise a lot to cover those songs but nowadays I just go on my 8 string with pitch shift thats low as hell. It is heavy but sometimes boring to play.

I'm not a metal fan, but would go to metal shows often with a friend. To me, it sounded like a competition to see who could make the most noise (the drummer is using the footpedals at 1000 bpm, and he's winning by a lot). I really love the enthusiasm from the whole band tho.
