Elderly woman rescued from rubble after deadly drone attacks in Kyiv

Search and rescue efforts were underway in Kyiv, Ukraine, on Monday, October 17, following Russian drone strikes that killed at least four people.

In a Facebook post, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes had hit civilian infrastructure and a “young family expecting a baby” were among the fatalities.

On Telegram, Russia’s Defense Ministry said that “all designated targets” had been hit, without mentioning Kyiv by name.

Footage released by Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of office of the president, shows crews digging through rubble in Kyiv on Monday and rescuing an elderly resident.
