A vocation in the trades is a good goal - probably less volatile than white collar career paths, and always in demand.

People don’t need to go because you can go to a trade school for 2 yrs or less and get the training you definitely need in that skill. Nobody want to go to College for 4 plus yrs and then get out and still don’t have that job but left with a huge student loan.

The cost of living is pricing folks out of education, as well as the price of education.

Good. College is a waste unless you’re specialized and know for sure what industry you want to be locked in. Otherwise, employers don’t care about your degree and treat you like sh*t. Better to move up somewhere and gets your respects by climbing the ranks than run in circles for fake college work “that’s gonna help you one day”. LMAO not always but it’s a scam to many.

A degree is a piece of paper that costs too much, and creates a lot of debt.A vocational skill is more important

I can see "several" reasons why kids (especially male kids) are skipping college. 1) because of the COVID their education has been "dumbed down" and it's likely that college will be dumbed down and as a result in absolute terms college just isn't worth as much; 2) the work place for college grads likely will be much more woke than industrial or trade jobs and in practical terms woke means discrimination against white males; 3) they want to enjoy life ASAP which means they want to start earning money while doing what they want to do rather than living like monks doing what the college wants them to do.

Hopefully they will still have to pay for other people to get jump rope and left handed puppetry degrees
