Time to finish my discussion on the Tales of the Jedi series. I forgot to mention this in the video but the art work for "Tales" was incredible as well. Fantastic stuff!

Hey Matt, this series is so awesome! Anyone wanting to know more about the EU and it's specific stories will find these videos invaluable. You are doing what very few (if anyone) have done here on YouTube. This is a visual history of the EU and I applaud you for your time and effort for doing this. Freakin' awesome! I hope you get to cover all of it! Keep up the great work man!

Thank you for reviewing my all time favorite EU comic series! Also the first Dark Horse Star Wars comics I had ever read. The story was Excellent, the characters too, and the artwork made everything look so ancient (lightsabers, ship designs, etc).
When I was in elementary school people on the playground talked about Darth Maul and General Grievous or Darth Vader. I talked about Exar Kun, Ulic Qel Droma, Nomi Sunrider, Master Thon and Freedon Nadd. Of course... people had no idea who or what I was talking about. I wish there was more people like Matt on Youtube talking about the Expanded Universe but in a positive way.

Hi Matt I have some great news the entire nine part Alexander Saga is finished I finished in second week of April. Here is the plot for my next trilogy. So the story of Episode's 10 through 12 well here is just the outline for it. It is set fifteen years after the events of the Epilogue of Star Wars Episode 9 Balance of the Force, and it involves a group of six Jedi venturing beyond the depths of known space to explore the Unknown regions, where they discover that the alien Race known as the Yuuzhan Vong believed dead several hundred years ago is returning to the known galaxy to exact revenge upon the galaxy for its defeat at the hands of the New Jedi Order several hundred years ago. One thing I am changing is that the Vong will have found a way to regain their lost connection to the force, because they didn't have it the New Jedi Order Book Series. In this trilogy we will learn just exactly how the Yuuzhan Vong became reconnected to the Force. It will be up to the Grey Jedi Order and the might of the New Republic to come together like never before to finally defeat the threat of the Yuuzhan Vong once and for all and I will tell you that this final trilogy will be like nothing anyone has ever seen. I am so excited to write this Trilogy but I am taking a couple months break so I can have the full story outline written before actually writing the trilogy. 😍 Let me know what you think.

Great video matt a couple days ago I was at my local comic store that just bought another comic store and decided to move to a new local, I started looking through some old boxes they had way back in storage that they now had enough room for and there was a box of single comics that were bundled with their entire series and I found the entire Tales of the jedi series and I picked it up for $20 it was an absolute steal.

Hi Matt Wilkins I don't know if you remember me its has been a long time since we spoke. Alot of things in my life have changed some good and some bad but I have continued to still been connected to Star Wars in fact in April of 2016 I began writing a brand new Star Wars Six Part Saga set in the Original Expanded Universe its set Four Hundred and thirty-three years after Return of the Jedi and three hundred and thirty years after the Second Imperial Civil War after the death of Darth Krayt.
The first Trilogy is called Star wars: The Dark Force Religion Saga
Star wars Episode I: Reign of the dark side
Star wars Episode II: Legends of the Jedi.
Star wars Episode III: Demise of the Sith
.
and then the second Trilogy is called The Balance of the Force Saga set thirty four years after Episode 3.
Star wars Episode IV: Heirs of the Jedi.
Star wars Episode V: Fate of the Force.
Star wars Episode VI: Echoes of the Future
The Basis for this series is that
after the Second Imperial Civil War the Jedi Order no longer exist because of its destruction at the hands of the One Sith Order by Darth Krayt and Cade Skywalker decided not to rebuild the Jedi Order after his defeat of Darth Krayt.
This is the Opening Crawl for Episode 1. It has been four hundred and thirty-three years since the Battle of Endor that ended with the destruction of Darth Sidious, and for twenty-six thousand years the Galaxy was protected by the noble and valiant Jedi Knights, the galaxy went through many wars, and the Jedi kept the peace, until the devastating war known as the Clone Wars erupted, the Jedi were wiped out at the end of the war by a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious and his apprentice Darth Vader and the surviving Jedi went into hiding until Sidious and Vader’s deaths at the battle of Endor.
Luke Skywalker the son of Vader reestablished the Jedi Order into the New Jedi Order eleven years after the battle of Endor with over one hundred Jedi Knights and went on to fight in many galaxy wide conflicts most notably the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Second Galactic Civil War and the Lost Tribe of Sith Emergence.
The New Jedi Order protected the Galaxy for forty-four years until Skywalker’s death, at the age of 63, during the liberation of Coruscant.
It was the final campaign of the Lost Tribe of Sith’s emergence in the year 44 ABY, and concluded with the death of Abeloth a powerful entity of the dark side.
Skywalker’s New Jedi Order was eventually destroyed One hundred and thirty years later after his death when the entity known as the “One Sith” emerged from the shadows and into open conflict with the Jedi Knights of Luke’s New Jedi Order.
The Jedi steadily lost ground against their new darker foe.
The final stroke by the Sith was an all-out attack on the temple at Ossus, where Darth Krayt and his Order crushed the last of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Order to dust.
Darth Krayt ruled for 27 years, plunging the galaxy into darkness until the last heir of the Skywalker bloodline, a former Jedi Apprentice named Cade Skywalker accepted his destiny as the last Skywalker.
And with guidance from his ancestor Luke Skywalker, Cade destroyed Darth Krayt and his Sith Order during the Second Imperial Civil War on Coruscant.
But after the war ended, Cade ultimately decided not to rebuild the Jedi Order as Luke had instructed him to do.
Instead Cade chose to go off with his lover Deliah Blue setting a course for a faraway planet, where they could all move forward with their future and live in peace.
Because of Cade Skywalker’s decision not to rebuild the Jedi order, there wouldn’t been an official one for three hundred and thirty-one years.
After the fall of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi order, the Jedi Knights fell into myths and legends, with all existing records of the Jedi being wiped from existence.
For three hundred and thirty years after the Second Imperial Civil War random force sensitives roamed the galaxy with no knowledge of the Jedi Knights or their existence, very few in the galaxy even realized they had sensitivity to the force.
Self Taught Jedi Master Jesse David Wood taught at least twenty-five students in the ways of the Force at a secret Jedi Enclave, but tragically twelve of them were killed by a former apprentice four years before the Dark Force Religion War began.
After this tragic event in his life, Jesse David Wood went into a permanent self-imposed Exile after he and his master committed a horrific act two years before the war ultimately began that shook David Wood’s faith in the force causing him to renounce the weapon of the Jedi known as the Lightsaber.
Master Wood has now decided to end his Exile while preparing to take on the Immortal Emperor Valkorion and his Apprentice Darth Magistrate but he won’t be doing it alone.
The Balance of the Force has shifted toward darkness and the galaxy needs a warrior to save it.
Jesse David Wood has assigned his niece to infiltrate Valkorion’s Shadow trooper corps to retrieve a young man named Deon Dynel Alexander who doesn’t know he is Force Sensitive.
This is the story of one young man’s journey to discover his hidden power and fulfill his destiny to save the galaxy for in his hands rests not only the future of the Galaxy, but the balance of the Force and little does Master Wood know that he and Deon’s lives will be forever changed when their paths cross, and so will the fate of the Galaxy. Episode 1 begins roughly forty-three years prior to Heirs of the Jedi.
When I created this series my mom God bless her suggested I make myself a character in the series so I did and this entire Saga is known as the Alexander Family Saga its a nine part Saga. I had to do a little bit of miner retcons to Legends in this series but it still has the heart of Legends in it and feels like Star Wars. I have only shared this series with a couple of my close friends and they enjoy it. I was wondering if you would be interested in writing my Sequel Trilogy if you would be increased since I know your a big time Legends fan. Here are the titles for my sequel trilogy. Star wars Episode VII: Knights of the Force .
Star wars Episode VIII: Scion of the Dark Side.
Star wars Episode IX: Destiny of the Jedi
.
If you don't mind taking a look at this information and let me know what you think about it.
My best friend and Mentor Dr Jesse David Wood is my character's Jedi Master in my series and in real life he is absolutely amazing.
I have alot of fun writing this entire Saga but am very hesitant to share it with the overall Star Wars Fan Community because I don't know if they would enjoy a different story and characters that have special needs. Three of the main characters in my Prequel Trilogy have high functioning Autism and in my middle Trilogy two of the main characters have high functioning Down Syndrome one character named Annabelle Miller finds out she is blood related to Darth Sidious and the other character a young man named Abraham discovers he is the reincarnation of the first Jedi Knight and was born through a virgin birth but the spirit of the first Jedi was reincarnated into him because Darth Plagueis Manipulation of the force and Abraham was destined to finally destroy the bloodline of Darth Sidious and not to give away spoilers the last episode in the saga is climatic as heck.

Hi Matt. I am sorry to bother you. I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a suggestion. As you know I have been writing my own Star Wars Series which is the Alexander Family Saga. Toward the beginning of the summer, I plan to be completely finished with the entire nine part Saga. I have been considering for some time to stop writing Star Wars Material after I finally finish the nine part Saga. But for the last two years, I have had an idea to write a brand new Star Wars Trilogy set during the Old Republic Era. My story idea was going to involve a Jedi Knight descendant of Darth Revan uncovering the existence of the Sith Rule of Two about two years after Darth Bane's death on the planet Ambria. The young Jedi would take a group of about twenty five Jedi Knight's with him to track down Darth Zannah and her Sith Apprentice Darth Cognus. He would track them to the planet of Dromund Kaas where a big light vs dark battle takes place. I won't divulge how the Trilogy ends, but I will say that the ending of the trilogy will have the Jedi High Council finding out about the existence of Darth Bane, and his Rule of Two Order. I think Darth Zannah will die at the end of this trilogy, but Darth Cognus will escape to parts unknown to continue the Rule of Two in secret. What I am wondering is can the story of this Trilogy work? or would it retcon any of the original EU?. I absolutely love and enjoy the EU. I would hate to disrespect it, and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Thank you for being my best friend, and I hope your daughters know how lucky they are to have you as their father, because your a great man. God bless you all always.

I have a question. I remember the name Ulic qel-droma from the clone wars video game when he teaches Anakin how to harness the power of the force around him to make him immune to the Dark Reaper's effect. A trick he learned and taught the Jedi so that they could defeat that same Dark Reaper during the Sith war. My question is which book, comic or short story was this event and story of how they originally defeated the Dark Reaper told?

lol, this continuinity is just EPIC. I didn't actually read much of the Marvel comic books before and I finally got to that one from the megabundle. That's what I like most about the EU, it makes you think!

Is Redemption in Tales of The Jedi Omnibus Volume 2 ?

Sorry to spam your comments Matt, one more thing. The "severe force" technique that Nomi used on Ulic while a highly advanced technique was used twice more (sorta) in the canon. I can see why you might not be aware of it because it was actually covered in a video game (which I know you usually are not a fan of), Knights of the Old Republic 2. It is used by Nihilus and Sion to strip Kreia of the force at her Treyus Academy on Malachor 5. The Jedi Exile is also stripped of her ability to use the force after using the superweapon on Malachor V to end the Mandalorian Wars (this is the sorta). The specifics of how this ability is executed is never covered in full, so you are absolutely right about it never being properly addressed. The way I figure, it is an ability that only the greatest of Jedi Masters or Sith Masters can do on their own, which is really a testament to Nomi's ability. This is why the mainly one other time in canon that it is done, it is completed in tandem with two other force users syphoning their powers into this one ability. Even then, Kreia's force abilities to begin with were negligable, I think she was simply very intelligent.

Great review Matt! I love your videos man. You might try to get in contact with my friend Matt Chatman, he has a youtube channel where he goes by the name of GreyJedi91. Like you and myself, he is a massive expanded universe fan, and in particular has an amazing knowledge of the Old Republic era, particulary the stories featured in Tales of the Jedi that cover Ulic and Exar's fall to darkness, and the consquences the galaxy paid as a result of that. Matt is really a great ruminator and philosopher when it comes to the topics of this era. Im sure he would delighted to have a conversation. Speaking of which, I really don't know why the council doesnt invite you to be a part of their next podcast. They could use a person with your enthusiasm!
