Nice review it is a smart looking locomotive, certainly has great cab detail. Yes that old tender connection is a pain hopefully Bachmann will phase that out for the future. The good thing though unlike the Hornby 4-4-0 loco's it doesn't have traction tyres.

I love violin music. Another tune you could play in the background is Beethoven's 6th Symphony, The Pastoral Symphony. I love that tune. Talk of steamies, your D11 is very nice for a 4-4-0 I will admit. I have a Hornby Collecter's Club 2009 0-4-0 E2 tank engine in BR Black. I bought him for £25 from the 80072 Support Group Carriage, behind Carrog Station, on the Llangollen Railway. He was tested and runs like a dream. I've named him Phantom the Forgotten E2, he's Thomas' lost brother; Thomas loved him dearly. Phantom is a friendly engine (not shy) and he's a bit nervous of new faces. Don't be scared, he's more afraid of you than you are of him.😉

Good review. Something very solid and businesslike about the design of the D11s I always think. Unlined BR black is simple but impressive and looks really good on this locomotive. I prefer it to lined liveries actually, you can appreciate the design more without the distraction of complex paintwork.

A fine loco. I have a D16 and it doesn't have traction tyres!
