If Shredder had looked like that of the 2014 and 2016 movies, he definitely would've looked like a realistic version of how he had appeared of the classic animated series. I'm really excited to see how the DreamEX figures of the Turtles, April, Splinter, Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and a Foot Soldier will look.

Just for future reference, Dan. That sword is clearly straight, ergo not a katana. It's actually a ninjato, which is designed more for thrust attacks as opposed to slashing with a katana. Some people also speculate that a ninja can even trip their opponent with the blunt side.

That is a really cool looking version of the cartoon Shredder. Makes you wonder why it was so hard for the two movies to get it right. Would love to see these guys take on Krang and the fly version of Baxter Stockman.

I once seen this Shredder displayed in a toy convention, and he looks freaking awesome. Just wow, The attention and detail is amazing. He seems like someone I would have for my collection as a TMNT fan. From what you described the only issue is the handholding, which would be a problem if you would want to do different poses, but other than that the figure is awesome.

Ahhh those hands LOL. Ironically, it seems like that's been a staple for Shredder figures. Ever since the very first Shredder figure in the 80s, designers have always given him really terrible hands where his accessories were concerned. Very, very few Shredders ever actually escaped the curse. This was a great review and this figure is amazing. It makes me think of how close we could be to a good 90s Movie Shredder.

So its model based off the original 1980's cartoon series, but with a realistic look....LOVE IT! :)

Thats the greatest Shredder figure I've ever see! Great review as always, Dan. Curiosity: Here in Brazil he is called "O Destruidor" (The Destroyer), since the original cartoon from 80's. :)

I think that at this price, the issue with the hands not being able to hold the items (at both figures!!) is a big problem. I can't understand why they can't/won't manage this.... Also, some paint wash over the color of their bodies (arms) would be good. Their arms should be anatomically more correct. The review is great, like always, thank you!!

Try cutting and separating the thumb and index finger on the sword hand. Hot water will help to soften the plastic also to pry them open. Your Welcome! Good review!

FYI: the mutagen in the original cartoon was that purplish pink color. The mutagen was green in the movies

All there's missing on this guy is a button which activates a speaker inside that plays several of James Avery's voice samples as The Shredder!

I'm glad I seen this review because it saved me money. It's not as good as I thought it would be. The not holding weapons properly is a major bummer for me. They should have had places to put all his accessories. Don't they test out these toys before they package and ship them? SMH!
