It would help if states weren't so daft about registering e-motos as mopeds. Now I can already hear what some of you will say, "AKtChUaLlY bandwagon, it goes over 35 miles per hour so it is a motorcycle." To that, I say yes, in some modes it does. I would also say that I have a car that can do 170mph, but do I go 170mph on public roads? I do not and if I did, I would accept the consequences for my actions.

Yeah, I've wondered about these bikes coming into populace & I know the State's will want to "Tax" their use. For gas bikes most
States hold a 50cc limit where you can ride w/o a DL or insurance but all these Ebikes & Ecycles are going to change everything
as they try to govern / tax & control the vehicles. I watch you b/c of your experience, I appreciate it. peace & GB ALL

Due to the form factor they're always going to be niche and thus the price is the third con. Also they're just flat out more dangerous for road use because they're less stable and especially going over road imperfections.

Various regulations across countries/jurisdictions restrict the imagination of PEV manufacturers IMO. The technology is there and if governments were actually genuine about reducing pollution, congestion, and improving people's lives, reducing PEV regs would allow more freedom to innovate. Our govs are beholding to big car manufacturers, big energy, etc and only look for ways to tax us more - so expect ebike registration, licences, limits and fines - sadly.
